Low-lying placenta - should I be resting?

I had a low-lying placenta at my 20 week scan, am now 22 weeks. I wasn't given any advice but since reading my pregnancy diary of my daughters pregnancy I remember that I was told then to rest and avoid sex. I've been having sex everyday and walking several miles per day, am I doing too much?

I've got this and am now 35 weeks pregnant. To be honest I'd give up the walking and keep up the sex. I wasn't told not to have sex tbh and lets face it it's the only joy you can have when pregnant. We were sometimes at it twice/ three times a day. I've had to slow down now I'm getting to the end but I've been ok and mine is the highest grade. I am spring cleaning/nesting at the moment and haven't stopped and touch wood everything is still
In place. I wouldn't lift anything heavy though if I were you and god luck! Wink

I think that the main thing you don't want to do is anything that might trigger early labour because of the risks involved. So sex in the later stages of your pregnancy is out!

However if you find sex relaxing then IMO that can only be a good thing - so you're probably ok to keep going with that at this stage.

Similarly while heavy lifting is to be discouraged by any pregnant person you also don't want to just vegetate on the sofa - a mum who stops doing exercise is likely to put on extra weight and that in itself isnt' a good and healthy thing for baby.

So exercise in moderation (swimming is good) and gentle walking is fine IMO - but a ten mile speed-walking session probably isn't a great idea.

good luck with the rest of your pregnancy (I'm 23 weeks myself so due just before you :) )
