I'm only asking because I've just discovered how much more supported my bump and even my back feel in them. But is wearing them to bed a quick way to thrush Blush

What else can I wear if tights isn't the answer? I know you can buy bump bands, but they're not really any good for sleeping in are they??

When I was in hospital having dc1 I discovered that the sugical socks took away my restless legs/ankles/feet syndrome that had tortured me throughout the pregnancy.

So during pregnancy with dc2 and 3 I wore them to bed every night I could! What a difference. I wish I could've had surgical/flight tights, I'd have worn them.

Wisdom you're my hero. I was admitted for dehydration a few weeks ago, and I've still got my sexy stockings. Right, tonight I'm going to try them! I've suffered with RLS for a while.

Jeepers, McPhee, so you're going to be trussed up in tights and surgical socks? I reiterate my 'Flashdance' comment, get a pair of neon leg warmers to complete the ensemble Wink

McPhee · 23/01/2012 08:17

I just may do that Grin

You could maybe take up ice skating instead?

TheWisdomOfSolomum · 23/01/2012 11:21

McPhee did the stockings/tights work out for you?

McPhee · 23/01/2012 11:45

The tights lasted until about half one this morning. But, I do think they made a bit of a difference with just trying to get off to sleep. I've been onto the Next website this morning, and ordered a pair of cropped maternity leggings. Am keeping my fingers crossed they might be a bit better.

Leggings arrived.

Stayed on all night.

I wore a swimming costume with crotch cut out seriously sexy look ladies Blush, luckily I have a DH with a sense of humour as I got superb support around the bump and was able to slide about the bed when turning which made the spd much easier to handle.

tribpot · 25/01/2012 10:40

There is clearly a huge market out there for crotchless support clothing (and welding gear) for pregnant women! We could make a fortune.

Pleased to be of service Grin

I sleep in leggings quite often and don't find them sweaty & horrible - they're just cosy!! :)

McPhee · 26/01/2012 08:34

And I had the most blissful nights sleep again.

I think I'll be ordering more leggings this morning. And this from someone who said she'll rather go to hell then wear them Grin

LOL - I have given up caring what kind of a 'look' it is or isn't Grin They are sooo comfortable, I even wore a pair on the school run the other day, with a long jumper - I catagorically do not have The Legs for them, but I do have the Who Gives A Fuck attitude Grin

McPhee · 27/01/2012 05:51

Chipping, I wish I had your attitude, but I'm just not quite there yet Blush

I've never been the most confident person, after yrs of bullying at school, but I'm working on it Smile It's a bit shit really, how these things stay with you.

McPhee - you'll get there :) I hate to admit it, but I have a few years on you (43) and probably a lot few kg. I'm beyond giving a rats arse about what I wear on the school run :) and as long as the top is very long (at least mid thigh) I'll wear leggings - if anyone wants to shudder at my knees, let them, at least I'm comfortable :) I would never wear them, not even in the house, with a top that didn't cover my bum as that's not even a look on a teenager with a good figure!!

ChippingInLovesEasterEggs · 27/01/2012 08:06

Yes - bullying is nasty and it's amazing how much it affects people still as adults :(

My little cousin is being bullied at the moment and it's awful - she's a lovely little girl, average/pretty, average intelligence, average weight, average height, no discernable features/needs/differences etc [I'm not saying it's OK to bully someone with those things, of course not, just some children are a clear target for one reason on another - my cousin is just so average you really don't expect it]. The one girl in her class has decided to bully her and is bully the others to 'take her side & not play with 'my cousin''. She has finally let her Mum go in and talk to the teacher after being too scared to play out (this kid is physical with her as well and is threatening to beat her up). My cousin isn't a 'wimp' either, she has an older brother & rough housing Dad - so she's used to a fair bit of rough & tumble and is a bit of a tom boy.

I just want to go to the school and set the little shit straight on a few things - namely what will happen if she doesn't fecking stop it!! (the kid comes from a very average/normal house, she's not abused, bullied at home or anything - but she does have older sisters & an attitude!). I'm hoping the teacher does manage to deal with it this week - I'm not sure how long I can resist the urge to go and have a word.

Beckitastic123 · 09/01/2014 09:13

I agree :)

ClearlyMoo · 09/01/2014 14:23

I bought a pair of over bump knickers that weren't what I was expecting at all. They were actually kind of stretchy spanx things. Not what I was looking for at all but they may do the trick... Search "Anita Maternity Women's Schwangerschaftswäsche Brief" on amazon.

Beckibuns1 · 03/05/2014 07:51

I tried sleeping in some 300 denier tights by "gypsy" they really supported my bump but having my feet covered just made it too hot to sleep :( now trying some leggings from asda which I'm told are really soft, high waisted and comfy so will report back with results x

Beckibuns1 · 03/05/2014 12:37

No good lol
