28 weeks - crampy all night long, not going away

I had lots of contractions on Thursday (up to 5 in 10 mins at one point), and was in FAU and then admitted.

They sent me home as it all calmed down, and yesterday I was only having one every 1-2 hours.

But I had uncomfortable cramps all night, in my abdomen and lower back, and stitch-like pain this morning as well. It was uncomfortable enough that I couldn't sleep very well.

FAU told me to call them if I had regular or painful contractions, bleeding, or my waters broke.

I'm not sure whether cramps is a problem or not. So I'm not sure whether to call them. I have this terrible issue of being seen as neurotic or making it up. I don't want to waste their time if they ask me to come in and it's all fine, I'm sure they have plenty of other people that need to be seen.

What do people think, please?

In my opinion, when it comes to pregnancy there can never be a waste of time if you have concerns, you were admitted in the past few days which would warrrant further observation given the uncomfortable night you have had.

Give them a call, put your mind at ease no point worrying.

And if they ask you to go in don't forget your 'grab bag' (just seen your other thread!lol!)

Good luck x

Thanks. I'm going to call them now.

And then hastily put my grab bag together if they ask me to go in :)

They want me to go in the afternoon.

Thanks again!

Glad they have taken your concerns seriously, hopefully things will settle down.

Good luck, I'll be thinking of you x

They've admitted me again for observation. They're hoping they'll be able to see if it's building into a problem or if it's more of an annoyance that will just tick along in the background.

Hopefully the latter!

Things have settled down, thanks. But I'm still in for observation. They want to keep me overnight again, but I'm trying to negotiate to get home.

Thanks for remembering me :)

Very pleased to hear that things have settled! Grin

Would they let you home if you agreed to go in the day unit for obs tomorrow?

Just an idea, although if they want you to stay, maybe as much as you want to get back to DS, that would be best?

Yes, if they really think I should stay then I will. But I'm shattered and getting no rest here (person next to me had loud phone calls all night and lady opposite is in long, slow early labour, poor thing) . And the midwife said they're no longer querying prem labour for me, they're just waiting for my MRI report. So I really think I'd feel better at home.

I might offer to come in tomorrow and see if that helps. Thanks :)

It is very difficult to rest in those conditions, glad they are satisfied prem labour not a concern.

It does sound like you would be better off at home.

Fingers crossed you get sorted soon x

Rubbish, I'm stuck for another night :(
