I hope someone can tell me that this is normal and not to worry! I had a mmc last year and so am very anxious this time too. I am seven 1/2 weeks pregnant and had a very early scan just over a week ago which showed a foetal pole and heartbeat so I felt ecstatic. My concern is that both last time and this I have had virtually no pregnancy symptoms. I had sore breasts very early on but these have gone away and on the day after my scan was very very sick all day but since then have had nothing at all. Is the lack of symptoms a sign I should be worried about mcing again or should I just feel grateful I don't feel ill? I know I could ask my midwife but I feel embarrassed about making a fuss when I've already had a scan and everything was fine.

The lack of symptoms doesn't mean anything. Really it is normal but there is absolutely no point in telling you not to worry. I'm pregnant after 2 miscarriages and I spent the entire first trimester freaking out badly over every little thing and I had no sickness at all, and my breasts stopped aching about 6 weeks or so. Even having 2 early scans didn't stop me panicking to be honest.

Some people just manage to escape morning sickness. No doubt you'll make up for it with some other symptom later on.

Pregnancy after miscarriage is a very anxious time. Just remember that each day you are still pregnant, your chances of this one working out go up. Take it one day at a time and before you know it you'll be at your 12 week scan getting good news. There's a thread on Conception called "Freak out room" where everyone else is in the same position - getting through early pregnancy after a miscarriage. I found it incredibly supportive.

I had a scan at same sort of time, we saw heartbeat and I think foetal pole and a blob for a baby, at 12 week scan I was terrified something would have gone wrong but baby was and is fine, now 24 weeks. I know it is common to not have many symptoms, some people have loads and some people barely get any. I had loads of sickness and very sore boobs but the sore boobs came and went, I kept prodding them to see if they were still sore! I wouldn't panic unless you have any severe cramping or bleeding (some light period type cramp is normal as your uterus stretches) Hope that puts your mind at rest a bit

Have a scan every second week if you can - it was the only way I stayed sane

That must have cost you a small fortune! I'm under consultant care and I'll have had 7 scans by the time I have the baby, but nothing like one every second week.
You are unlikely to get that on the NHS just for reassurance. Often they are happy to give you an early scan but once everything's ok, you are back to getting the same as everyone else unless you need growth scans later on.

Of course, if you can afford it you can have the scans privately. Personally I think it might have added to my worry but everyone is different.

I also recommend distraction. Keep yourself fairly busy without stressing yourself. have plenty of nice things to do to make the waiting time go faster. Nothing fancy, just a few things in your social calendar so you are enjoying yourself not just sitting at home mentalling.

Thank you! I will have a look on the conception forum.
