I'm sure I just felt my baby move for the first time, and I've no one to share it with.

I'm only 15+1, and I'm laying here on my side. I am sure I just felt the first flutter/bubble type movement...and I'm feeling a wee bit freaked out Blush

Yay! Lovely! Glad you shared it with us Smile

Snusmumriken · 14/01/2012 19:04

Congratulations! It's an amazing feeling isn't it?

McPhee · 14/01/2012 19:06

Well it is, but I don't know whether to laugh or cry at the moment. I think I may be in shock Blush

That's lovely. Is it your first? I felt movements with my first around 20 weeks, earlier with the next two. It's really strange to begin with, but just wait till it starts elbowing, head-butting and kicking!

blackcatsdancing · 14/01/2012 19:11

the first movements i noticed felt like little butterfly flutters, can't remember how many weeks i was- many years ago now! How lovely for you!

hermionejgranger · 14/01/2012 19:12

Hurray! Congratulations! Share away :)

McPhee · 14/01/2012 19:13

Yes this is my first, I think maybe that's why I'm freaked. My partner is in blooming Scotland so I can't even share with him properly grrr.

Yay! I felt my little one from about the same stage. Nearly 25 weeks now and it feels like she's a sea monster writhing around trying to escape! It's fab - the novelty definitely doesn't wear off! (well, not for me anyway...). It's even more thrilling because I lost twins at 20 weeks in May, and I didn't feel them moving at all really, so it's really exciting knowing there is something in there xxx

coccyx · 14/01/2012 19:48

Super, super, a special moment

McPhee · 14/01/2012 19:48

DH started being able to feel her around 19 weeks, and now we lie there in bed every night feeling her and watching her moving. It's very special. Enjoy it :) xxx When will you be seeing your partner?

Nat38 · 14/01/2012 20:21

aaawwww!!Smile tis a wonderful feeling!!Wink almost makes me want to be in your position againHmmEnvyGrin

McPhee · 15/01/2012 08:09

Diffed, sadly we're living 400 miles away from each other at the moment, but that's going to change in the next few months. He's only just returned to Scotland, so it'll be a few weeks before he gets down again Sad

Sorry it's going to be a while xxx. but by the time you see him again the baby might be big enough for him to feel! :)

Tinwe · 15/01/2012 09:17

I know what you mean about it feeling weird! I remember waking one night when DD was doing manoeuvres early in my first pregnancy and stopping me sleeping and feeling very "body claustophobic". Didn't last long tho and I came to be reassured by it, when you meet your little one you'll be surprised you didn't feel more!
27 weeks pregnant with Bean II now, so I must enjoy it :)

Yummymummyyobe1 · 15/01/2012 12:02

It is the best feeling in the world DS1 (Harry) made himself known at 15 weeks I actually though those first hello's were gas and now at 25 weeks he is very active. Enjoy every flutter.xx

McPhee · 15/01/2012 13:13

Thanks guys, I've not felt quite so much this morning. Is it normal to feel movements, then not feel anything for ages?

OP posts:
DiffedAgainDachs · 15/01/2012 13:37

Absolutely. Even at nearly 25 weeks although I feel her a lot I had a couple of days last week where i barely felt her at all. Panicked phone call to consultant - he laughed at me and said it's perfectly normal and he wouldn't expect me to feel movement consistently for at least another couple of weeks, and then it would be dependent on the position she was lying in xxx

McPhee · 15/01/2012 14:09

That's ok then. I kind of presumed I'd carry on feeling baby move about now but felt nothing since last night. When did your consultant first make contact with you? I'm supposed to be seeing one because of some medication I've been on for a few years, but I've still not heard a thing.

DiffedAgainDachs · 15/01/2012 14:38

I was referred to the consultant service after my first midwife appointment because of losing the twins. I think my first appointment with the doc was at about 16 weeks. If you've not heard anything I'd call your midwife and ask her to chase up what's happening with the referral. My letter with the appointment came through at the same time as my letter for the 20 week scan appointment.

McPhee · 15/01/2012 18:25

Ah ok, I'm due for my 20 week scan in the middle of feb. Maybe I'll hear then. I just presumed it would have been sooner.

Thank you Smile
