Only a small winge...

Does anyone else get pregnancy related insomnia, I can't remember the last time I slept through the night, and don't think I have in this pregnancy. I'm usually a brilliant sleeper. I mean whats the point of now saying don't forget get plenty of rest before the baby comes, yeah could have told me that before I got pregnant!! Every night, it is one worry after another, and that restless feeling in my legs. I mean come on, could I not have one day without that feeling. Last night all I could think about was, 'oh, I don't have any sleep suits' (I'm 30 wks pregnant) I know where I am getting them from, Asda, but simply could not get them off my mind. As I was falling asleep, I was shopping in Asda in my sub concious (sp?) mind at 3 am in the bloody morning!! trying to buy sleepsuits. While all this tossing and turning has been going on, since I could remember my DH sleeps soundly. I could smack him, really could just whack him one. Was so tempted last night, just one little thwack, why does he sleep and me suffer.

and breathe....

You just described me !!!!! Im soooo fed up of not sleeping but being tired.. Up at 6am for work every day and with a 5 year old !! Although I bought a huge 5ft pregnancy pillow off eBay for £17 and it's soooo comfy it helps :-)

I had the same for the first three months and I suffered terribly from RLS too. Since you're 30 weeks I guess it's stuck or started late with you, and annoying as it is to read the same thing over and over again, it will pass. In the meantime, wherever you can get a catnap (even if it's in the bogs at work!) take it.

I read somewhere that you should write down a list of things that are bothering you before bedtime, so that you can 'put them to bed' so to speak. Try that?

i thought it was just me. every bloody night i go off to sleep like a baby then 3am i wake up. i have given up trying to get back to sleep. i just go downstairs watch tv till i am tired again and then shuffle back to bed and wake up 11am. luckly i am on mat leave and have no children so i can catch up sleep. saying that bang on after lunch and buffy i have to sleeep for another 2 hours. so weird as before i used to sleep from 10.30pm each night and up at 7am like clockwork and never had insomnia.

at first i did try and get back to sleep but in the end i just figured you cant beat it so i might as well have a cup of tea and watch a film. also it stopped me hitting my snoring husband in his sleep anyway if i am not in the same room :)
I have had this from about week 25 and I am in week 34 now.

I've been having crazy dreams - including the obligatory mid-dream 2a.m. Toilet break.

I've been waking up really disoriented - and not really rested. Only starting to turn to corner by bringing in (dream free) naps.

Me too! Have a restless feeling a lot of the time but especially at night, spend the whole day exhausted, get to bed and can't sleep. Then if I do sleep I have a crazy and usually quite nasty dream :( I'm only 24 weeks, getting quite tired of all this now. Then I feel guilty and like I will be a horrible mother because this is our desperately wanted little baby boy but I just hate being pregnant. I have to keep reminding myself that in 4 months I will be able to cuddle into him and it will be worth it and that everyone has to wait for their babies and they made it through so I will too I hope

Footprints...I have the same dream too on a regular basis,I just figure it happens when I need the loo. Funny, it seems only women who really suffer, and when I tell my DH his response is, well you should wake me, wwhat use is that, all I want is a good nights sleep. Looking forward to tonight, going to buy the pushchair tomorrow, so no doubt what will be on my mind. Lalabaloo...I can't say i'm enjoying pregnancy either. It does make me feel like a bad person, the only thing that gets me through is knowing it will be over soon. And if I have got this far,not long to go.

It's horrible isn't it! I have just started this well waking at 2-3 o'clock then not managing to go back to sleep. I'm tired and grumpy and it makes my morning sickness worse! Then bed time comes and I can't get to sleep Sad very much feel your pain when DP is snoring away next to you makes it feel a little worse!! I say we all plan random slaps tonight..! Smile
