Ok so i am more than ready now! 39+5 today and have done all my jobs and feel like this weekend would be a great time to meet my new LO.

So what are your best tips to get things going?? I don't think I am too far off in that head is engaged and is defo low down in the pelvis now and i am getting loads of period like pains and twinges but who knows how long it could be. I've had a go at the nipple stimulation, bouncing on the ball, swimming and yoga (3 x a week). Anything else anyone 'swears' by?!

To be honest, i didn't hold with any of that.
I kept the mind "it will come when it's ready"
she was 16 days late.
(but the hospital made me be monitored from 12 days over)

yours doesn't sound too far away.

the best advice I can give, which the midwife kept trying to drum into me, but over which I had no choice, is, have as much rest as you can. Take it easy, watch telly and eat loads (have someone run about for you)
I couldn't finish work until the Friday before DD arrived, and that day of doing nothing brought her into the world. I'm absolutely convinced that she only decided to come when she knew I was ready for her.
(all my ducks in a row, is how my friend put it! Grin )

Good luck.

Yes i think that's a good point, they do tend to come when you're relaxed! I'm not the best at doing nothing but will try and embrace it for a few days...!

Nothing you can 'do' as such - DC2 was 1/5 engaged for 7 weeks before he made an appearence (we were living on a building site at the time so he probably wasn't that keen!). But PLEASE rest - your labour could be long and exhausting and the early weeks of motherhood are far from relaxing! I wish I had spent more time enjoying coffee's out, the cinema, mid afternoon snooze's before motherhood made that a distant memory (in a good way!).

My midwife swore by burning Clary Sage (not that it helped me!).

Good luck

I'm trying everything had pineapple for breakfast, bounced on the ball, had raspberry leaf, sat rubbin ma boobs like a perv, gonna go for a long walk and then jump DP again when he gets in :)

I know he'll come when he's ready but might need a wee push if he's anything like his daddy. MW says physically i'm all ready to go baby all in the right place big enough and been having twinges and sore braxton hicks doing these things makes me feel like i'm doing something to help
