I have Anti-M in my blood, and my first pregnancy with it was terrifying, and there was really no way to get explanations, or support, or advice on what/why/if/how it would be dealt with.

Is anyone else pregnant with any anti-bodies in their blood?

Hi, I was on holiday when the midwife rang me and said they had found anti-bodies in my blood, asked if I was abroad, and just said we would discuss it at next appt! Needless to say I was frantic, especially as my first pregnancy had ended in miscarriage at 16 weeks. Anyway, it turned out that I have anti-FYA, which I have produced as a response to having lots of blood transfusions during chemotherapy, and basically because my husband doesn't carry them, all should be well. I actually found the medical staff at the blood transfusion service were the most clued up and helpful- maybe you could get in touch with them? Hope this helps - I'm now 32 + 2 btw :)

Thanks,

will they actually test my unborn's father to see if he even has IgM to see if there's a risk?
Because they didn't even consider it last time.

It's like with Anti-D jab they give me, if they tested DP to see if he was rhesus negative too, if he was then I wouldn't have to have the jab as there'd be no risk.

Did you get DP's blood tested on the NHS?

Yes, the consultant called him in for blood tests as soon as we got back from holiday, and its in my notes that baby and I will be re-tested at delivery. I'm in Northern ireland, but I would have thought it would be standard throughout the UK and NHS....

There's a medical query section on the blood transfusion website secure.blood.co.uk/mqf.asp maybe they could answer your questions?
