How did you know you were pg? What were your very first symptoms?

(Sorry if this has been done, had a bit of a scroll through...)

Horrible metallic taste in my mouth, like I'd eaten a fistful of change. Gave the game away so early the second time round that the GP didn't believe I was pregnant!

Followed by utter exhaustion of the "I'm only getting off this sofa if forced to at gunpoint" variety.

Boobs were really sore and had implantation cramps. However I wrote that all off as being normal period symptoms.

Nausea and really bad cramping one side at 3 and a bit weeks (went on til 13weeks)

For me it was:
an implantation dip on my temp chart at 7 days PO, where the temp went straight back up the next day
Consistently high temps (usually 96, stayed at 97.4 + apart from implantation dip)
Sore boobs (just heavy and achy - no colour change yet)
A UTI (needed antibiotics to sort out)
Constant weeing and thirst (although prob not helped by the UTI)
Threw up my vitamins a few days before AF
Was nauseous and couldn't eat my homemade rice pudding (which is one of my guilty pleasures)
Just had a feeling that I might be

But then despite AF being late and using the PG tests (10 miu) that are meant to show an early BFP.... from 8 days PO to 18 days PO they were all showing negative, I tried a Tesco test 3 days after AF due, which was 17 days PO and got my BFP! Only the next day did the 'earlier' tests even show a faint line. Who knows maybe the Tesco test would have shown an earlier positive?

I am SURE that the following contributed to my achieving a BFP
Using PRESEED (BFP after two months of using)
Using the cheap ovulation test strips to detect OV
Charting my temps in conjunction with the test strips
Having Reflexology (via a fertility reflexology specialist) just before ovulation each month
(after 3rd reflexology session, and 2nd month of TTC - got my BFP)
Changing my diet and my hubbie's
Taking the recommended vitamins and herbs
Almost eliminating caffeine
Cutting down on alcohol
Getting my hubbie to stop having saunas (great for the skin bad for fertility!)
Quit stressful job and changed lifestyle

Best wishes to all trying... I know it's murder reading all the comments where people have conceived, but stick with it, channel positive energy try the things above and they are bound to help get you in the right direction!

Sore boobs, extra sensitive smell ability and wanting to eat hot cheese! I took a test 3 days before period due so it was really early days! 18 weeks to go now, I still retch at strong smells!

Feeling more tired, slight period type pains, and enlarged and sore nipples!!
(all this at 4 weeks)

I had a feeling that something was different on my birthday, felt queasy but, blamed it on my lovely friends who spend most of the day feeding me cake and ice cream. Two days later I just carried on feeling different, but, cannot really pin point it, maybe I was just feeling more sensitive and weepier, I also felt compelled to buy newborn socks and a pregnancy test :)

Feeling sick before I'd missed a period, and very tired. Also had funny taste in mouth first time round, but not this time. Food aversions and preferences were also pretty early on.

hamncheese · 12/01/2012 15:49

excessively painful cramps and needing to pee more (5wks) :)
