How stupid am I?????? I'm almost 36 weeks and it has only just sunk in. I'm having a baby! Don't get me wrong, we have the nursery furniture, the clothes, the pram etc. We know it's a girl and we have settled on a name. This is a planned and much wanted pregnancy.

BUT, I'm having a baby! To take home from the hospital! She will live in our flat! And stay! For a very long time! I've only held a baby once in the last 17 years and that was for a few minutes! I've never changed a nappy!

I think I'm having a panic attack or something!

Eh, for us it's been a lot of deliberate denial as I've had recurrent MC - issue identified and hopefully fixed, I'm now 22w with twins and just attended first antenatal class with OH. It was very odd hearing the midwife there talking about it all as if it's a done deal, and I think it sort of hit my other half that it's really happening as he's been very quiet and distracted since then. For me, well, I can feel them kicking so I know someone is coming...
what strikes me as so odd is that all these major things are coming one after the other with no gap. In August I did IVF for the first time - lucky me, but it was odd, painful at times and really nerve-wracking waiting for test results. They went right to the wire double checking the PGD results so we found out we had viable embryos 10 minutes before they were transferred (and had to make the decision on the spot to transfer 2). Straight on from that to actual pregnancy and then there will be birth and then real people. Mad! You'd want a few months at least to get your head round any of those things never mind running them all together. I keep thinking it would be great to be able to take a holiday from being pregnant for a couple of days, just be back in normal life shortly and then get back to it - but it just keeps happening :-)
