Hi,

I'm 26 weeks pregnant with my first child and usually he's pretty active, but i haven't felt him move in over 24 hours, I'm starting to get worried, I have text my midwife but i haven't had any responce yet. Should I be rushing to the hospital yet or am I just over worrying at this stage?

I've had a cold drink and my partner has been talking to my belly to see if making sudden noise will wake him up, but still nothing. I'm hoping he's just a bit like his dad and could sleep through a hurricane.

Any thoughts are greatly appriciated.

Call your local hospital and speak to a midwife. Do it now because you won't sleep worrying anyway.

NickNacks · 06/01/2012 21:07

Hospital now! Don't want to worry you but there's no time to waste on mumsnet!!

Good luck!

I agree contact Maternity unit x

OddBoots · 06/01/2012 21:09

You need to either phone labour ward or go to the A&E or maternity unit. Things are probably fine but it is important to check and 24 hours is long enough for it to be something you need checking tonight.

SleepyFergus · 06/01/2012 21:09

I agree, please go or phone your pregnancy unit ASAP. Best to get checked out. X

If you think there's something wrong there's no harm in going to the hospital. Personally I would, but I am a bit of a worrier. It would put your mind at rest xx

What they ^ said.

I had the exact same scare at about 24 weeks and I thought maybe I was just panicking too much so tried to ignore it. Problem was that by the time I finally decided to go to the hospital, I'd wound myself up so much that I was a hysterical mess by the time I got there! LO was absolutely fine but the midwife made it very clear to me that if I felt concerned about her movements again, I needed to come in straight away and not let myself get into that state again. She was lovely about it and kept saying "this is our job, this is what we're here for".

Go to the hospital and put your mind at rest.

Slainte · 06/01/2012 23:26

As others have said, please go to the hospital straight away.

MustControlFistOfDeath · 06/01/2012 23:32
