I don't want to drive you even further into insanity :) but do you know it could be a leeetttllee while longer don't you? Is it your first?

I found the last four weeks interminable first time round and did go a little stir crazy. Try and keep as busy as your body will allow and do as much as you feel up to. Go for walks, enjoy your freedom, sit in cafés reading books and drinking hot chocolate.

Sorry if you have children already and know what I'm on about :)

Other than that no advice or old wives' tales, it would be fun to read them. I had nothing first time round. Labour kicked off unheralded at 40+5!

Good luck with the waiting!

I know how you feel! I'm almost 37 weeks too. Midwife says baby is engaged but that doesn't mean labour will start any time soon.

I'm desperate to meet my baby too but still have another week at work so hoping it will stay put for a little bit longer at least....

Interested to see what advice/old wives tales people know

Keep active! My DS arrived at 38+4 (started losing plug at 37+2 and waters went at 38+1) and I'm pretty sure it was down to me doing as much physically as I could manage (that and he was ready to come out). Each day do something like hoovering, go for a walk, bake a cake. Dont overdo it, but just 20 mins twice a day of good movement.

I have 2 friends who both went 2 weeks over their due dates and had EMCS after failed inductions due to them (and this is by their own admission) sitting on their arses with their feet up, eating and watching tv. While I did my fair share of resting and eating chocolate :o I also kept myself busy. Go to town and walk around the shops, then come home and rest for example.

Good luck.

Meant to say, just hoovering, go for a walk or bake a cake - not all in one day! :o

That's the one thing I like about where I am, in France. EDDs are given as 40+10 here so no-one considers themselves overdue until past this date.

Good luck and stay busy - but try and keep it in there as long as possible :)

And please, please enjoy the time off! I am 35w with DC2 and no time to relax this time round, I am working as long as possible as it's actually easier than staying home with a toddler!
