I had GD in my last pregnancy so was induced at 39 weeks. Induction was successful and 11 hours after the pessary was given I had DS in my arms.

Had my GTT yesterday and the results came back negative which is good but now I feel at a loss on what to expect re: natural labour. I'm also not happy at the prospect of potentially going 2 weeks overdue as I'm already beginning to struggle at 28+3! I know I sound whiney but believe me I'm relieved that I don't have GD again. I just feel a bit out of control can anyone reassure me and give any words of wisdom? Thanks.

Just think - induction hugely increases your risk of intervention and complications such as PPH, retained placenta, and an assisted birth or EMCS. A couple of weeks longer of being pregnant is a doddle compared to recovering from any (or most) of the above with a newborn as well Smile

Besides, you could go into labour at any time, you might not even get to 42 weeks Grin

Well if this one is as laid back as her brother it wouldn't surprise me. She is a lot more active than he was though so maybe she'll be eager to come out when she's supposed to.

My other worry now is whether it follows that subsequent babies are bigger. I know my bump is bigger. DS was 8lb 7 which is big but not massive, my nightmare in this case is what happened to my friend: 2 weeks overdue and she had a baby that was over 11lb!

I think babies weight gain slows after 40w as they start using their body fat so you shouldn't have much of a difference between 40 and 42 weeks. Some subsequent babies are bigger, others aren't. DD was 8lb 2oz at 42+2 so not enormous!
