Nursing/bump pillows

I thought this would be the one thing I could just buy without getting overwhelmed... However, after seeing about 6 different types of pillow on the shelf in Mothercare I ended up leaving empty handed. Which ones are best? Just cheap v shape? The rounded one! The one with the bit that goes around your back? And, is it advisable to buy a protector and spare case?

I bought a crescent shaped one. I never used it, but dd was 5lb 9oz so maybe if she was bigger I would have, but I did feed her until she was eight months and still found it uncomfortable and too much hassle. Just use a normal pillow on your lap if you need one and save yourself £25!

I used my dreamgenii from about 13wks. Saved me a lot of hip and back pain. Also serves as a feeding pillow. I got a case for it, but only the one. You might find cases "cheaper" on ebay...
I tried v-shaped pillows, standard pillows proping up various bits of me etc, but none were as 'good' as the dreamgenii...it is expensive, and it took me a couple of nights to get used to sleeping on my left, but it was 100% worth it.
now 37+5 with an in-utero hooligan, and I basically won't sleep anywhere without it.

i wouldn't bother personally, just use normal pillows from home. i got a curvey round the back one and a dream genii and i find them such a faff. if i get really uncomfortable i just stick a pillow under bump. much easier!

I found normal pillows the best thing for me. Having one between my knees and another for abit of bump support.

Has anyone tried the summer infant body support pillow? I've got a 4ft bolster pillow but it's too & I end up with it on the floor. Last pregnancy I ended up with 5 pillows to get comfy, it's not practical. Have read reviews that the dreamgenii isn't good if you're on the larger side, any thoughts?

I got the long flat one from Mothercare, but it was so flat and wide, it gave no resistance between my knees, and took up too much space!
So I took it back, and then went to Dunelm Mill and got 2 v shaped pillows for half the price. The pillow cases were only 2.99 too!
Now I tend to sleep with one bit of the v between my legs/knees and the other bit behind my bum, supporting my back and helping me to stay comfortably on my side.
Plus I can use the 2nd v pillow as a feeding support when Bubbs is here!

I bought a V shaped one for pregnancy, in the end I used lots of normal pillows too and didn't really need it.

What I wouldn't have done without is the nursing pillow. The V shaped one wasn't great, although I did use upstairs occasionally, and I took a friends advice and got this NCT one, it was brilliant, very portable and comfy for LO.
