Hypnobirthing - CD & course or just CD?

Hoping someone can help... I'm thinking about trying out hypnobirthing for DC1 due in March.

Do you have to do the course or can you get on just as well by listening to the CD? Just wondering if the course(s) are worth the extra expense...

Just marking my place here as I'm hoping for a hypnobirth. Not sure about cd or course yet but will follow this post with interest to see how everybody got on! :)

(currently 10+4)

It's called innervision. I just put 'hypno birthing' into the search in the app store and only 2 came up!

Oh yes littlemiss what's the app?

I think you are supposed to start about 30 weeks with the CDs and ramp up how often you listen in the last few weeks.

I am using the Maggie Howell natal hypnotherapy birth prep CD on its own and I find it really good - it gives you a totally different way of thinking about and anticipating labour. I find it makes me excited and really look forward to it - even the 'sensations' (she NEVER says pain!).

However, I have NEVER managed to stay awake through the whole thing in the weeks I've had it, so I recommend listening to it a couple of times when you are 'conscious' (e.g. sitting at a table) so you hear the techniques and visualisations and can commit some of them to memory to use in labour. She says your subconscious does listen to it (in which case, man, I am prepared) but I'd rather know I'd actually listened to it...
