Washing baby's clothes

So, suddenly I am 33 weeks pregnant so it's time to start getting organised. I have lots of lovely little baby clothes which I know I need to wash.

I live in a fast-developing country where I can buy imported "hypoallergenic" washing powders, although not brands from uk. They are very expensive, which is fine, but availability isn't guaranteed so I may end up switching powders several times within DC's first year.

We have used the same local brand for a year now, it's fine for my sensitive skin. I am planning to use this for all the baby stuff too. I have no idea if it's bio or non. I doubt there is a distinction here.

What do you think? Should I do an extra rinse cycle? Then there's the question of what on earth is in the water.... But I can't do much about that!

Thank you!

I just make sure it is non-bio & use less!! You could always give machine an extra rinse cycle if you are concerned!!

friedrice exactly the same situation here but am 35 weeks! I used a hypoallergenic wash and did an extra rinse when I washed baby clothes last week.

Spent a very long time in the supermarket trying to decipher what I should be buying Grin

Ps as for what's in the water, who knows but for the last week the bath water has smelled horrible. This baby may be washed in rainwater...

What's it called? There's a fair chance it's a P&G/Unilever/Henkel brand as they sell everywhere, and they should have info on their websites about the ingredients.
