I am 23 weeks at the moment and am 'just' starting to feel like I am actually carrying a wee bit of a load. It's only happened over the last couple of days. Starting to feel fairly heffalumpy and stretched. I'm just thinking, what the heck am I going to feel like at 37-40 weeks?!! Maybe i'm just having an off couple of days, dunno... :(

Oooh, just realised am 29 weeks tomorrow, not 28... could be only another 8 to go...

DeeBeee · 28/12/2011 21:43

I am 23+4 and this week I feel really big and heavy. I already have quite a bump on me, there is no mistaking I am pregnant, and I cannot imagine how huge I am going to feel in another 10-15 weeks

ChineapplePunk · 28/12/2011 23:40

Much sympathy to you, DeeBees. We are practically neck and neck. And like you, I cannot begin to contemplate how much bigger I'm going to get. For one thing, I don't think I have enough skin :)

I'm 34 weeks with number 2 and what a difference this pregnancy has been to the last. I was big (for me, am quite petite) in first pregnancy but this time round I've felt huge for ages. Everything is uncomfortable, have not been able to get a good night's rest in weeks and have not enjoyed being pregnant at all this time. Last time, I loved my pregnant body, did not want to give birth, loved all the drama of being too big to comfortably turn in bed, the waddle etc. This time, I just want it out. I'm having a planned cesaerean (very traumatic first delivery) and am hoping they can do it ASAP. Can't bear thought of another 4 weeks like the last 4. Feeling very sorry for myself, post-Xmas blues and hormones are taking control... Looking after a 17 month old is not easy with such a protrusion. Gosh I sound blue, is that normal..?

zumm · 29/12/2011 13:12

Oh Mrs Pradz - poor you.I really hope the planned Ces works well for you. Pl try and post and let us know...

I'm 28 weeks and feel fine so far tbh. I got a shock catching sight of myself in MILs mirror at Christmas as I realised I suddenly had a bump after it being hidden away for ages. I have put on just less than a stone so far and I think that's the clincher for me. Both pregnancies before I started at a size 14 and ended up a good 20 at the end, and at least 4 stone up. I started from a 10 this time and so I guess I don't notice the extra weight so much. I lugged a wardrobe into another room yesterday and am still walking miles pretty much most days. I am enjoying the physical side of pregnancy much more this time, and I do wonder how much of that is because of not having a desk job. I do think being able to be out and about every day has staved off the SPD this time which was dreadful both times before and was my big fear for this pregnancy.

Sending lots of sympathy to all the ladies feeling a bit blue/enormous.

It was 32 weeks for me last time - went on holiday and had to be pushed back up the hill to our cottage on more than one occasion! Baby was also wedged on my bladder and had to go to the loo approximately every 90 seconds (actually, as soon as I got up I'd start to feel the nagging need to go again but couldn't 'empty' any more Confused )

At 38 weeks I went into town and nearly killed a woman who pushed in front of me in the WHSmiths queue, I was SO knackered from having to stand that long. I didn't go out again unaccompanied for about a week and a half! By 41, I was not fit to be in company.

Doing alright so far but it's only 19 weeks!

My honest recommendation is to visit the gp when you feel really bad and listen to the heart beat. It saved me every time (faked a concern). Or buy one which I know you can do. Or you know, do what you did before, go shopping...lipstick or jewellery always works whatever size you are.

Equally look at pregnant women. They are beautiful. Go to town with accessories and really enjoy it. Its so fleeting.

I was overweight to start with and have put on roughly half a stone now (29wk) so not feeling like I am massive yet. However my hips are so painful when led down, even my maternity pillow isnt helping and the thought of 11 more weeks of not being able to sleep is horrible.
I am not enjoying pregnancy this time around either. It just feels like a big chore to get through. I know baby will be worth it though.
Like other posters have said, 11 weeks IS A BLOODY LONG TIME!

AnneMarieL · 30/12/2011 11:40

I was a little chubby to begin with (basically been on/off preg all year until this one stuck and the hormones played havoc with my weight!) and now at 29+5 I've managed to notch up another 3 st ... definitely starting to feel it now! Oy! But am so loving being pregnant - and have probably indulged my tastebuds a bit too much lol, but hell, we deserve it for what our bodies are going through!

mumsrthebest · 30/12/2011 14:06

I started to feel overly heavy around 28 weeks.

witherhills · 30/12/2011 14:10

Just the last couple of weeks, and I was pretty huge

buterflies · 12/01/2012 13:25

31 weeks tomo and starting to feel exhausted all the time. Baby is pushing on my bladder and under my ribs. Fed up now and still 9 weeks to go boooo!

Mikocat · 12/01/2012 13:40

At aboout 20 weeks I started to be aware of the extra weight, my back started to ache.

I'm 24+3 now and I'm feeling quite ungainly, having trouble bending, getting up off the sofa and feeling like I have to support the bump underneath by the end of a long day.

I am only 5'1", I don't know if that makes it worse.
