Hi
I got PE at 25 weeks in my first pregnancy. I was monitored by GP and midwife until 30 weeks, when I started having more regular midwife visits and scans.
At 33 weeks I was admitted to hospital, because I had 2+ protein and my bp kept climbing.
I was put on medication for my bp, which kept it controlled, but was kept in hospital until dd was delivered early at 37 weeks.
The hospital stay wasn't bad at all, I had twice daily monitoring, blood and urine tests etc.
They didn't want to deliver dd until it was at a stage where she was better off out then in IYKWIM .
In my case, the PE was a kind of 'slow burn' from 25 weeks, but I always felt that the medical staff were in control and knew what they were doing.
I know it's really scary and anxiety-provoking and I feel for you. I used to think that every day where dd didn't need to be delivered was a bonus and a step towards her getting bigger and stronger.
The only advice I would give is to stay as calm and relaxed as you can (I know it's really difficult) and to trust your instincts. If you feel like something's changed eg a really bad headache, swelling etc, don't be afraid to make a nuisance of yourself at the hospital. That's what they are there for. I was included in the staff Christmas raffle and Christmas Eve meal while I was in hospital-shows how well we got to know each other!
Best of luck and I would love to hear how things are going. Remember, you usually only hear about the really dramatic PE stories and it's easy to think about the WCS. I also got it with dd2, but it was really mild and she was full term.
Take care xx
