i have two girls and i know my OH secretly really wants a boy even though he says he doesnt care. I would also love a baby boy but also feel if its a girl easier as only have 2 bedrooms and already got loads of pink etc.....

In exactly the same boat as U. 2 pregnant with DC3 soooo hoping for a boy!! It was only 7 months ago I had DD2 prem. When are you due? I'm due in 15 weeks April 6th x

deemented · 21/12/2011 06:49

I just want a live baby, tbh. One that i can take home with me. The gender of it really isn't important.

karatekimmi · 21/12/2011 07:42

Misread the title at first - would love some certain sex! Xmas Wink

Don't really care, neither does DH but am slightly worried if it's a girl that my soft as grease loving kind DH will be putty in her hands! I know I'll have a daddy's girl and a spineless kind father! (self-confessed daddies girl - now know it must of driven Mum mad!)

xmasmummytobe · 21/12/2011 07:53

I really didn't care until after we found out. We were told at the 20 week scan we were having a boy. Up until then I was just so nervous that baby was ok, once that was all confirmed I realised I was really pleased we are having a boy. Although I think I'd feel the same if we were having a girl. It just made it all so much more real when we were told the sex. Baby became a he, my son and our baby boy not just an it or baby.

spannermary · 21/12/2011 10:37

I'm the same as xmasmummytobe. In fact I. Was convinced we were having a girl, but at the 20 week scan we found out we're expecting a boy I loved the idea of a little girl, yet now I'm completely and utterly thrilled we're having a son!

MiauMau · 21/12/2011 10:59

I knew it was a boy all along, even when I found out that I was pregnant and it was the size of a prawn I knew it :)
Felt mighty smug when we went for the scan and they confirmed.

HardCheese · 21/12/2011 11:15

I was a bit disconcerted to find out I was having a boy, having spent 20 weeks just thinking of it as The Baby, but now I can't imagine him being a girl, and I'm very fixated on my little baby boy (who is currently doing astonishing backflips and starjumps inside...) The only downside of having (just a week ago at 26 weeks) ) announced the sex to our families, is the gender-stereotyped way both sets of parents are referring to something that is still, after all, just a tiny baby. All the 'little footballer' comments really annoy me, and I foresee lots of conversations about not buying him violent toys and gender stereotyping as he grows up. Groan.

HaveToWearHeels · 21/12/2011 11:19

I always wanted a girl and was overjoyed when 20 scan confirmed it was a girl. DD is fab and now I am pregnant again I secretly wish for another girl. Not sure if it is because it is what I am used to or if it is because I only planned an having one therefore bought everything pink and will have to rebuy if it is a boy lol

OTTMummA · 21/12/2011 11:27

I was sure DC1 was a boy, and he was, and im sure this one is a girl, i will update you in about 10 weeks lol.
DH thinks this one is another boy, but he thought DS was going to be a girl, so i generally take the opposite answer to his and i am usually right Grin
TBH, i don't mind what we have, i have considered both, and i just can't imagine how they will be, what they will look like, whatever sex they are.
Im just itching to find out, i am sooooooo impatient.

AlexTasha · 21/12/2011 11:28

My DP and I were both convinced/hoping for a boy as there are already lots of girls in the family and no boys. So we were thrilled when we found out it was a boy. Just to be able to know what he is an imagine what he will look like now we know the gender is so cool. :)

NeedlesCuties · 21/12/2011 12:18

There hasn't been any girls born into my DH's family in 3 or 4 generations, so I'm hoping this one is a girl!

Wouldn't mind another boy though, but would love to buck the trend Xmas Grin

Snowboarder · 21/12/2011 13:49

I have one DS and this will be our second and last DC so I guess a girl might be nice just to even things up at home! We also have 3 boys in the immediate family so lots of testosterone about. That said, I love my boy so another would be fantabulous!!

Funnily enough I 'knew' DS was a boy from the beginning but I had a scan today and the first words that popped out were 'there she is!' but I guess we'll see.

RealLifeIsForWimps · 21/12/2011 13:52

Part of me wants a boy as I think two boys will possibly play together more (already have a DS). Part of me wants a girl as this will be my last one and I'll be a bit sad if I don't have a daughter.

.......so basically there's no pleasing me.......

JambalayaWarmMincePie · 21/12/2011 13:53

There hasnt been a boy born in my family since my brother, he's 24. Grin

Wider family are definately banking on this being a boy - I'm not bothered, I just want it to be healthy and happy. :)

Clarajinglebumps · 21/12/2011 13:58

Of course I dont really mind as long as its healthy but I have 2 ds and this is my final baby (getting the snip after its born) and I'd just LOVE a girl! I really would..I'm uber girly and think i'd be a wee bit gutted if I never had a doll in my house.

And I feel as though i live in a house of farts and toilet seats up and dinosaurs and roaring. I'd maybe like a wee change!

MiauMau · 23/12/2011 10:20

RealLifeIsForWimps I think that you ca keep on wishing for your girl :)
I have a much younger brother and sister (2 years between them) and they played loads, actually sometimes they were almost as close as twins.

paddyclamp · 23/12/2011 12:39

Not pregnant...i'm done!...but with DS (my first) i desperately wanted a boy and luckily he was :) .... with DC2 i had no preference at all but i just knew she was a DD from the start :)

Commutinghell · 23/12/2011 16:05

I think I'm secretly hoping for a girl but I know DH would cope better with a boy so I will be delighted either way, just can't wait to find out next week! Smile

Mum2be79 · 23/12/2011 16:45

Not bothered.

The only thing that bothers me is that there seems to be more girl clothing in stores than boys!!!

MIL said she was hoping for a boy. It made me cross at first because I thought she would love a little girl less. On thinking about it, I think she's scared that it will be a little girl because she thinks they are 'different' to look after than little boys. My DH is an only child after his parents tried for 16 years to have a baby. Also all but one cousin are boys. So MIL has only ever got 'used' to boys.
