i have a theory that if you crave sweet food and fruit.then you are having a girl and savoury food especially cheese then you are having a boy.

The only cravings I had was when I was expecting no.2 & 3 who were both girls and the craving was... the smell of petrol!

zipzap · 13/12/2011 16:04

I craved fruit and more fruit both times (especially lychees second time around. Was able to buy them by the 2kg box for a couple of quid from the Market, big beautiful ones that cost about ten times as much in the supermarket. Then the day came that - arrgh- they were out of season. Bad bad day.). Nickname was fruitbat whilst pg because I was eating so much of it.

Ended up with 2 boys...

I craved cheese, toast and Marmite and fruit juice in both pg. One baby of each. Orange juice for DS, Grapefruit for DD. DD also made me crave Min cheddars, DS also made me crave tuna mayo sandwhiches.

I craved salty and spicy food when pregnant with DS1

I craved Vanilla, caramel and custard with DS2

FWIW

No it's bulls**t Grin I've lived off salt n starchy carby savoury things. I'm having a girl.

I've read many a old wives tale that have said boy. But my lil girl obviously likes to be the exception to the rule!

lucyfluff · 13/12/2011 17:14

I crave both sweet and savoury!! on baby boy number 3.....!!!! :)

kiki22 · 13/12/2011 18:22

i'm having a boy and can't get enough of sweet stuff :)

Mummy2bjune · 07/01/2012 22:47

2 boys
both craved chewing sponges, and the smell of any cleaning products and wet washing!

lollystix · 07/01/2012 23:13

Craved sweet stuff in all 4 of my pregnancies - all boys. Ds1 was my crunchie baby, ds2 was lion bars, ds3 was chunky kit Kats and ds4 was haribo all the way.

lollystix · 07/01/2012 23:15

Oh and bucketloads of cherry coke with ds4 too till the canteen at work stopped selling it (which was probably in both of our best interests)

MiauMau · 08/01/2012 14:02

I guess that it's meh to your theory then :o
I'm currently pregnant with my first baby and my craving have been a mixed bag of savoury and sweet from grapes to pringles.
My question to all of you ladies is, did you know in your gut if you were having a boy or a girl? Because I did and got it right, I've somehow always known that I was going to have a boy, and felt extra smug at the scan when it was confirmed.

farmerswifey · 08/01/2012 16:08

Ooh golly - my craving this morning was for jam and cheese sandwiches (surprisingly yummy btw) God knows what I'll be having Confused :o

PictureThis · 08/01/2012 18:39

Oranges, chilli and cheese with DD. Same cravings with this one.

CuppaTeaJanice · 08/01/2012 18:52

Sherbet with DS.
Ice lollies and roast beef (not together) with DD.

Although the midwife did think DD would be a boy after feeling my pregnant tummy as 'this baby has lots of legs'!! Confused

USFIVE · 08/01/2012 19:55

1st time - fruit
2nd time - crisps, carbs
3rd time - food in general

all girls
