Wilts I'm one of three, my sister arrived when I was 16 1/2, my brother when I was 20. I love/d it. My sons best friend is my brother!

JjingleBeanplusPudalltheway · 01/12/2011 21:26

hokey I wish I had a friend with 3 or more, all my friends are childless and think I'm insane.

I just can't wait to look back in the car and see all 3 side by side, all complete. :) I also have ridiculously idealistic visions of pushing a pram with dd and ds each side talking away.

msbaublestwinkle · 01/12/2011 21:29

I have 2 friends who each have 3DC, one has much bigger age gaps than me, one much smaller. The one with smaller gaps says she spent the first 6mths of DC3's life delegating everything to everyone else!

All of ours still co-sleep. We have a giant bed, 2 king sized mattresses on the floor. There is no room to open the closet in our bedroom, but the chest of drawers just fits! I'm looking forward to the noise and chaos and busy-ness of 3, I love having a full house!

Nice to meet you all :) I only know two couples that have 3 - and one of those was twins so only one couple that actually planned 3 IYSWIM. When my two are playing up I do sometimes wonder what on earth I have let us in for but hey - no going back now! It actually took me about a year to persuade DH to go for number 3 (3 was always my number) but then I got pg precisely a fortnight after stopping the pill. I had to get in before he changed his mind Grin I consider myself jolly lucky to have become pg so quickly at my age. A similar thing happenned with DS but DD took her time. I lost one in between too so am hoping for a happy scan a week on Monday.

I have a ds age 3 and a half, a dd age 1 and a half and pg with our third baby due mid may. My older two are May too!! Can't believe I'm having three May babies. It will be a busy and expensive time of year for us and will require much organisation and forward-planning on my part!!

youtalkintome · 02/12/2011 08:29

Well a no show for me on it's due date but that's no surprise. We actually know quite a few with 3 dc, i'm meeting friends later 1 who had her 3rd last week and one who is due today. We had our first 2 youngish I was 24 and dh was 22 so that probably has something to do with us having a 3rd, I always wanted a third, i was one of 2but when ds was a toddler i felt there was no way I could of coped with a baby he was such a handful and then it made better sense to wait. I would have preferred them closer together as the thought of still going to Children's birthday parties every Saturday for another 7 years almost tips me over the edge Grin.

We have space in the house for baby to have it's own room and there car isn't a problem for now they fit across the back but is a hassle doing belts up so have the baby on an isofix base in the front of my car and other 2 in the back. The bit i'm worried about is affording childcare, I have 2 dc at prep and will have to pay for a nursery for this baby. I want to go back to work for myself but i'm not sure logistically it will be worth it so will need to investigate my options.

The other thing i worry about is that my other dc are really close i can't believe how well they get on as someone who never got on with her brother as a child, they're almost like the same person they freak me out a bit, i worry that this baby will always be an outsider and not have what they have or that it will change the dynamics between them, will have to wait and see. This pregnancy has been by far the easiest of all now just hoping goes the same way Grin

I am expecting no 3 in April/ may. My 2 dd's are currently 18 months and 3 yrs old. We got a people carrier already to accommodate the third car seat and are building a house next yr to keep them all in! I now live in Ireland so building is quite common here. In the mean time we have to move in the new yr closer to the site, that is going to be a nightmare but packing with two small kids is better than packing with three!
Good luck Youtalkintome! I am sure your dd's will adore the new baby, I always think forward 20 yrs down the line of the support they will be able to give each other when i am old and decrepit!

I also know a few people with 3, though mostly with either small age gaps (1-3 years between each) or where no. 3 has been a complete afterthought - one friend has a 15-year age gap between no 2 and 3, another a 21-year gap Shock. I am in the middle (6.5yrs between 2&3) but even though I had a MMC 2.5 yrs ago I'm glad it's worked out like this.

Youtalkin I'm with tracymac on the close relationship between your two - my two are close as well (also something I'm over the moon with as someone whose brother still has nothing to do with me), but I see that as a bonus, not a problem. Shaking pompoms for a good delivery for you Grin.

Me!! I'm 23 weeks today. Have 2 DS's aged 6yrs 9mo and 5yrs (as of next Saturday!) My 3rd(!!) son is due to make his appearance on 30th March. Am taking voluntary redundancy the end of this month so hubby will be sole earner while I take a year or two's hiatus to stay home with bubs and my other 2 beasties. Our house is 3 beds (allegedly) but the box room is TINY!! Thinking we may have to lose the computer room and give baby the tiny room til we can save our pennies for an extension! Car won't be an issue as hubby has a Picasso and my little Yaris will take me and the lads no problem. Have been SO ill this time around - three is definitely the magic number - no more!!! Really excited now. Not worried about holidays as we usually rent a cottage instead of package deals so we will cope well I think. Once baby is 1- 1.5 I'll get a part-time evening job to supplement income so we should be grand.... In theory anyway!!!

phunkiephedora · 02/12/2011 18:17

Yes :-) 7 yr old twins and thankfully just the one for number 3 :-)

EsmeWeatherwax · 02/12/2011 18:34

Me, 31 weeks with No3, who is a boy, I have two girls already, aged 4 and 2. Closeness of spacing reflects my age more than anything else, although found this gap quite doable with the girls. I have a two bedroom house, but one of the bedrooms is big enough to split into two, so ds will have his own room, with the dd's wanting to share anyway, so they'll be in bunk beds.

I traded in my 4 year old Zafira for a nine year old Ford galaxy, have played around lots with the seats, and what would have been a nightmare of skinned knuckles in the Zafira is a dream in the Galaxy. Bonus feature is it's much nicer to drive too!

Holidays always fine too, as we go and stay in the inlaws Hebridean House, or rent apartments etc.

Pregnancy has been much easier this time round too, in terms of less nausea and sickness, but I am absolutely shattered all the time, and this will definitely be my last, it's just not fair on my other kids!

loubloutwinmum · 05/12/2011 15:05

Me too - 8 year old DTD's and now have a number 3 on the way but very early days! Worried sick about the age gap as twins are so close and get on so well. Not had a scan yet though so might be having another two, who knows!!! Life is full of little surprises isn't it.
