I have just got my BFP and am around 5 weeks pregnant. I was wondering what happens now. This is my third and all I remember is that GP didnt do a pregnancy test and referred me to the midwife. I havent contacted the DR yet so was wondering when this happened, how long before I see the MW etc???

Thank in advance for the advice :)

I'd phone ur gp surgery, who will refer u to a midwife who will phone u and make and appointment for about 8 weeks. That's what happened with me anyway. CONGRATULATIONS!! So exciting!

Yea, understand about keeping it away from the little ones. I'm 19 weeks now n mine has known since beginning and is now getting VERY impatient! Lol.

Oh lol, mines only 2 and a half. although I was very concerned hed say "mummies got a baby in belly" infront of someone. But everytime he touched my belly I quickly distracted him lol.

Lol mine are 7 and 3 and believe me the 7 year old cant keep a secret for no-one!!! He would tell everyone he met. I'm going to tell our families over Xmas and then work when I'm about 20 weeks.

Will you be able to hide the bump at 20 weeks?but then again, iv hardly got a bump. So suppose u cud, Oh god no a 7 year old I would expect will blab to everyone! What was it like having two? But then again there's a 4 year age gap, with mine there will be 3 years. I'm nervous! Xx

At first it was lovely because my eldest started full time school 2 months after baby was born. So I had lots of baby time whilst he was at school. My 2nd was a difficult newborn, so the biggest thing I would say is make sure you still give your first lots of time, cause with the age gap I had my first had got used to having me all to himself, they do fight now cause my youngest wants to do everything his older brother is doing, but I wouldnt be without them. Its worked out quite nice as my youngest with be starting full time school 2 months after this one, so just need to learn how to split my time.
I involved my eldest right from the beginning and ordered announcement cards from him to everyone with a photo of them together announcing that his baby brother had been born, he was very proud!.

Im hoping I can hide the bump until then, very worried about a multiple pregnancy though as in our family from both sides and due at our generation, twins and triplets!!!Now that would be hard and scary :)

Oh best of luck then! That would be hard! Yea I intend to involve him, help with bedtime bottles cuddling and feeding(if I cnt bf, couldn't with him due to lack of milk) but he does like to help out with hoovering, he's just put a load of washing in. With my guidance obviously. I don't think jealousy will be an issue with me, its his dad which he'll get jealous over, he is a daddys boy and even I'm not allowed to give him a cuddle or argue with him, or my ds1 tells me off!

We can self-refer in my area now - I went to my GP at 5weeks and was told to contact the midwife team directly. There's a link on the hospital's website apparently. So I guess it depends on where yu are, but there's no harm in going to a GP, although I agree mine didn't verify with a test, or do anything in fact! Congrats btw!
