Best book for birth advice?

Hi could anyone offer some suggestions for a good book to buy for birth advice/information? My stepdaughter is due to give birth in 4 weeks, has missed all but one of her ante natal classes and is now terrified of what to expect. I've looked on Amazon, but I need to find a practical guide to all aspects and a lot are only focused on natural birth. Ideally she wants to have as little intervention as possible, but I'm conscious she doesn't know a lot about the actual mechanics/stages of labour and she would like to understand all the possibilities so that she can try and make an informed choice.
Any advice gratefully received
Thanks x

I've been reading Birth Skills bu Juju Sundin which I am finding really informative and intreresting with some (what i hope will be) very useful labour techniques

www.amazon.co.uk/Birth-Skills-Proven-pain-management-techniques/dp/0091922143/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1322648476&sr=1-1

I also have The New Pregnancy & Childbirth By Sheila Kitzinger which i also found very informative. It takes you through everything and is really easy to read. You can get it on ebay really cheaply.

Ina May Gaskins Guide to Childbirth. Yes it's hippy/natural but there's good science in there.

I'd second Ina May, lots of useful stuff.

Try Hypnobirthing - it's amazing - teaches you the tools to keep relaxed and focused and allow your body to do what it was intended naturally to do. It's not hippy, not stage-showy, just common sense. Talks you through exercises and comes with a CD - you're in control the whole way. The best book is: this one

This is a great read. Sensible and factual but easy to get through.
