Chew your food properly. Losing your breakfast is bad enough - having it unable to exit because you gobbled it too fast is even worse. Blush

any others?

if you eat a curry don't decide to have a scone with cream and jam half an hour later, both tastes together another half hour later doesn't go so well

My Mum heard somewhere that sniffing newspaper print/ink can help.

Sipping cold milk

Dont eat mashed potatoe. It comes up as it goes down and sometimes out your nose!

Having a ginger nut biscuit, and for me my morning sickness was cured by eating jam donuts (my major craving) and by passing the morning sickness on to my then husband. Everyone thought he was either suffering a really bad hang over or been drinking when he said how ill he felt and couldnt stand the sight or smell of food. When he spoke to our doctor about it the doctor laughed at him and then offered him morning sickness tablets. So just pass on the symptoms, life is easier. My mum done the same to my dad and sailed through both her preganancies. Also try eating little but often. (or in my case i ate constantly pretty much)

btw sorry if i have intruded but i had my son 18months ago, but as i have been there thought i might be able to help. x

Sleep. Tiredness makes it worse. And when mine was at its peak it was a relief to be asleep because it was the only time I didn't feel sick!

Avoid anything too tomato-y. Oh, the acid, the acid...Shock

Oeisha · 30/11/2011 15:42

OK, Tips...feel free to mentally spread them out over the next few...

Pack a baby-toothbrush, bottle of water and small tube of toothpaste in your handbag, or at least a small bottle of mouthwash (puke, clean/rinse and go)
Sleep, being tired really makes it a lot worse
Ginger capsuals
Avoid citrus fruits
Little and often with food
Graze on fruits and nuts
and...
...develop a sense of humor about vommiting out your nose for 10mins, whilst 2ft behind you you cat's also vommiting up his dinner on the floor...
Is it unusual for furbabies to go through empathy pukings???

My cats always come and sit next to me when I'm retching in the mornings (it has now more or less stopped, thankfully) - they look at me with what seems to be genuine concern, and like they think I might have a hairball or something.

swap every cleaning anf hygiene prodyct in the house to unscented ones... It took me weeks of gagging every time I showered/washed up/did laundry until I finally had an epihany! (Sorry if this has been obvious to everyone else...)

Broodzilla · 30/11/2011 18:53

oh dear... I can spell, really...

babyphat · 01/12/2011 21:22

haha, that's so funny about the cat sympathy!!
broodzilla - i had to stop wearing deodorant for a bit as the chemically smell was just too much! unscented might have been kinder to the people around me but frankly i was past caring :o
