Sooooo, I'm 28+5 and yesterday when I went out walking I felt a sharp stabbing pain a couple of times that felt like they were coming from inside my fango (... really dislike this word...), and again this afternoon. They didn't feel like an UTI, just odd like a prodding knitting needle.
Any ideas?

If it's the same as what I've had it's completely normal but disconcerting, affectionately known as 'zingers'!

pushmepullyou · 27/11/2011 22:55

Not sure what it is but I know exactly the feeling you mean and it's definitely normal Smile

Always suspected it was the baby resting kicking on my cervix

scarlettsmummy2 · 27/11/2011 23:00

had this all th tim from about 30 weeks with first pregnancy. I think it is normal!

MiauMau · 27/11/2011 23:34

zingers?!

very weird sensation.

molejazz · 28/11/2011 00:12

I had this with my first - I think the midwife said it was baby bouncing on my cervix. Quite sore - it it happened while I was walking I would have to stop and stand still for a while!

my2centsis · 28/11/2011 01:07

professional term is a cervical shock... and sorry to say that get worse :(

MiauMau · 28/11/2011 14:45

Bugger... I definitely think that shock is the best word for it. I had another one today, whilst coming to work. Commuting and zingers don't quite mix as all I feel like doing when I get them is to just sit down exactly where I had it

I had stabbing pains down there towards the end of the last trimester and was told it was "lightening" and completely normal...

MiauMau · 28/11/2011 17:44

wow, the words for it are getting worse and worse by the minute

Midwife told me it was the baby settling down over a nerve, squashing it against bone. Bog all you can do about it too. Needless to say, dh thinks it is very funny...

emmam25 · 29/11/2011 14:11

Am so glad to have a name for this delightful sensation! I keep complaining about "stabby vag pains" which never fails to amuse the dp Grin

MiauMau · 29/11/2011 16:30

Yep, when I told my DP he replied with the (now) usual "Another glamorous side of pregnancy"
