Cervix length worries!

As I had an operation on my cervix a few years ago, I am having my cervix length monitored in this pregnancy. The consultant is scanning every 2 wks - am currently at 20 wks. So far so good - it seems short (around 30mm) but isn't getting any shorter.

However, I'm not sure if there's anything I should be doing/not doing to help things - I meant to ask at my last appt but forgot! For example, walking, lifting, exercise etc? Often at the end of the day I feel a sort of ache in the vagina/pelvic floor area but maybe thus is normal anyway? I'm very much of the "carry in as normal" pregnant type but am wondering if this is silly and I should be trying to take it easy.

Sorry for the ramble but essentially what I'm asking is has anyone had a potentially short cervix and been given any specific medical advice? Thanks!

Mine was measured at 2.9cm at 12 weeks. I thought this sounded v short but was told not to worry.

Thanks kicking. Mine was actually 2.7 at 18 wks and then 3.0 at 20wks so I don't think the actual measurements are that accurate. Were you given any specific advice about taking it easy?

No and I did ask about that.

I would love to have an excuse to take it easy - I'm a primary school teacher and I have a four year old! I'm also diabetic which is knackering when coupled with pregnancy. But nobody has mentioned taking it easy because of cervix length.

Oh ok well that is reassuring. Although you are right, it would be nice to have an excuse to sit down a bit more! You must be exhausted - I have a 3 yr old so can empathise to some extent but working as a teacher must be really tough. Are you going to continue to have more scans? I hope things stay stable for you.

I think I have been offered another scan at 22 weeks alongside the anomaly checks. As far as I know, thus is standard at my hospital as they are taking part in a research project.

The 2.9 cervix was really downplayed when I asked the midwife about it.
