Hi mums and mums to be.
I'm on a low budget and most things I'll be buying second hand or given by my friends however I'm willing to send money on a good stroller!
I love stokke explory and bugaboo camelian.
If you had any experience with either one any advise would be great!
Also where is the best place to buy them? I still have till feb when my little boy will be born so I still have the Christmas sales ahead of me :)
Thank you for reading my ad in advance ??

I hear that the Uppababy is the best selling pram in the US - better than Bugaboo. I can see why aswell, seems much better value for money. Can't wait to start using mine (even my husband is looking forward to it!)

Bugaboo every time. I have a frog bought second hand in 2007 and it still looks great - have just cleaned it up for DC2 arriving imminently.

My daughter pretty much stopped using a pram/stroller as soon as she turned two, so I did start using only an umbrella fold (McLaren Triumph) which is easier to load in the car for "in case" and hoik on to one shoulder if need be. I don't like them for very young babies though as they don't seem very supportive.
I admit I do have a gorgeous sprung chassis base pram (Inglesina, a bit like a silver cross chassis) that I think is fab for newborn to 3 months, as they can be rocked but are not "rattled" by cobblestones etc, so it is even better than the Frog's pneumatic tyres. I got it for less than seventy pounds second hand and it is beautiful but not a "keeper" like the bugaboo as it really is too heavy to bother converting to a stroller etc, although it does fold down and do all the same things.

If you are looking for true portability when baby is really little though, you can't go past a sling. I always used slings if I had to use the tube or bus. If you get really good at using them, they can take you through to toddler - but I found my daughter too heavy by six months.
You have plenty of time. Try things out in stores while you are still early enough in pregnancy to see if they are too heavy or fiddly to bother with. Ignore travel systems. Try to get things second hand. I spent less than 300 on all of the above over two years, and they are all good for resale.

You honestly can't be on that low of a budget if you are looking at bugaboo and stokke. I was seduced in my last pregnancy into the seductive expensive posh pram world, but tbh when push came to shove I just could not justify that amount of money on something so mundane.

We ended up with this cleo which we got from ebay £90, brand new. It was a good pram actually, very handy for the baby sleeping downstairs. The wheel fell off after a year and we bought a London stroller from argos for £45, after 6 months the wheel fell off that too.

We then got a Mothercare urban detour for £10 off ebay, that lasted 6 months and the wheel has gone flat and refuses to be repaired. We don't have much luck with prams, but I doubt our pram spend over 3 children would add up to the price of a new bugaboo Shock.

The Stokke has no suspension is difficult to fold and fairly big, the basket isn't great and makes it very heavy to push/get up kerbs if you've got too much in it.

The Cameleon is awkward to fold/unfold, and is a two piece fold, the basket's near impossible to access in pram mode.

I would recommend the UppaBaby Vista instead. I've never heard a bad word said against it! It pushes beautifully, has a huge basket, a big seat, fold in one piece with the seat either way, is small folded, comes with a carrycot and is really luxurious. And it can usually be bought for less than £500.

Go to the Pushchair Chat section for more opinions from true addicts! Wink

Here it is. Smile

Pushchair ladies are great!

I was in a similar situation to you, and they helped me decide to spend our money (£400ish) on a 2nd hand Bugaboo Cameleon rather than a brand new cheaper pram. I also have a couple of friends who have Cams and have never bought a 2nd stroller, so that's another plus.

We bought a 2nd hand 2nd generation Cameleon for £350. It's like new! Really pleased with it. Just need the baby...... 3ish weeks to go.

I can't open the link! And the stroller has not been bough yet as I'm still saving for it, being a single mum on a low budget isn't easy but I still want the best possible pram lol Grin
