I'm 23 weeks too and have gained 8 pounds. I too haven't really gained weight anywhere but the bump and boobs, I know my legs are fine as I've been wearing pre pregnancy jeans with a belly band and they still (just) fit. I seem to be carrying differently this time, my bump is actually quite small and low down, I'm a size 10-12 and there are still some people who haven't realised I'm pregnant! Baby seems nestled right into my back. I do think my weight gain will speed up now though, both previous pregnancies have seen me gain more than 4 stone, and while I don't really want to repeat that, I know I need to gain weight. I'm lucky that so far I have no problems with my pelvis, I know my weight gain wasn't helped by being so immobile last time, this time I'm still bounding around like normal. I'm not able to eat so much this time either as I feel slightly odd being too full, I think my stomach has shifted position.

Don't envy me. By this time in both previous pregnancies I was a whale. I think the universe is cutting me a break this time.

1st - minus 1kg
2nd - plus 9.5kg
3ed - plus 2.5kg

Net gain of 11kg...a relief cos the 2nd trimester scared me a bit! Thought I'd gain more in the 3rd but I barely put on weight.

Lost 4kg by day 4 after the birth (no idea why so little given that DS weighed 3.1! must have had a tiny placenta/little liquid)

Lost another 5kg within 10 days. Now am 8 weeks after the birth and just got 2 left to lose. Don't think itll happen until I stop breastfeeding (and eating so many biscuits!)

In both pg:

1st Trimester - loose 1.5-2 stone due to hyperemisis.
2nd - put it back on + weight of baby etc
3rd - net weight gain + weight of baby etc
Birth - about 0.5 stone heavier than before.

I don't have scale so don't know, but I am down to two pairs of work pants that I can actually wear right now. I am 10 weeks.

I gained 45 lbs with my first, I was very thin before, have not got back there yet. I swore it would be different this time around and I would gain a healthy amount of weight. I guess i am not off to a great start...

1 stone per trimester...... the end of the second trimester my weight gain stabilized. I am now 2.8 stone heavier (weight before pregnancy 11.4 stone and now 14.3 at 36 weeks).

Luckily I am 6.1 foot tall... So it doesn't show that bad

goodnightmoon · 22/11/2011 20:21

I don't think it's bad to track - I was gaining too fast at the start and it made a massive difference once I watched my carb intake. The risk is developing gestational diabetes.
I'd also like to brag that I am in pre pregnancy skinny jeans at 36 weeks.
:)

very low rise!

Added a stone in the first 8 weeks but still in my size maternity wear - its all on the boobs and bump. Now 24 weeks and must be getting bigger but I've not bothered weigh myself. I don't feel horrific do I'm not worried about it. Hth
