Hi all,
I am pg with my first and I want to buy my DH a book that he might actually want to read! He's not very good at reading up on things, and I think would prefer it if I just told him what I've read!
So, any recommendations for a book that he would hopefully enjoy reading, but that is also informative??
Thanks! :)

Mine loved the Bloke's Guide to Pregnancy by Jon Smith. Really funny and great anecdotes from him which helped my DP understand I'm not crazy - just hormonal! Goes through each stage and after and a good section on advice if anything goes wrong - not nice to think about but necessary with problems I was anticipated to have.

I also got it as a gift with a little babygro from Next saying 'I love Daddy' really enjoyed it to get something for him to get him excited!

Congratulations also! Grin

Ooh thanks, that sounds ideal - will have a look for that one. Love the babygro idea too, I might steal that one - the idea, not the babygro!! :o

There's a Haynes manual. DH bought it for a friend and I had a quick look at it. It seemed pretty good.

Haha good job there isn't a baby in it yet either otherwise you would be finding yourself with one more! Def recommend it!

I & Dh really enjoyed 'Fatherhood - The Truth' by Marcus Berkman. it's funny & sweet, covers his experience plus anecdotes from about half a dozen other fathers. With overviews of all the necessary practical stuff as well as the emotional side & the things you/he might be feeling but not wanting to admit to out loud.

Grin haha! Now I think that would really surprise him!

What to expect when she's expecting - my hubby laughs out loud at some funny bits, but it's also full of brilliant tips for a first time dad.

Another vote for the Haynes manual from me:

'pregnancy for men' by Mark Woods is the book I've recently brought for my DP after reading loads of good reviews about it on amazon Smile

Just read the review of the Haynes book on amazon - it says its good on conception and birth onwards, but no so good on the 9 months in between. Is that true?
