Just a rant really as I know there is nothing that can be done! I feel rubbish and am sat shivering on my bed, exhausted after throwing up again! 6 times today and have only eaten two slices of bread, an apple and a Jaffa cake. All that is coming up is stomach acid and it hurts!!! this has gone on for 2 weeks now and seems to be getting worse....

2nd pregnancy and with DD I was sick up to 16 weeks not sure I can cope that long :(

Any stories/advice to make me feel better??? TIA

I've read that Vitamin B6 can be useful for sickness, and ginger sweeties? I feel sick and sometimes retch but haven't actually thrown up. I am eating SO much though as it helps keep the nausea at bay the pounds are piling on! Crisps really help me, and cola cubes xx

:( I sympathise with you my lovely I suffered terrible Hyperemesis (extreme morning sickness) with my second and was sick up to 20 weeks (with steroid injections).

It's fucking horrible and crap.

I would say "ginger" this and that. But only people who don't have sickness recommend that. Flat "pop" helps (Dr.Pepper) and perhaps some boiled sweets. I had some acupuncture but it made me worse. In the end I was given medication from the GP, which didn't stop it but staved it off.

I really feel for you, am now 38+ and have decided this will be my last merely down to the sickness.

Vitamin B6 will probably be advised by your MW...however injections might be better as tablets can often hit your reflex.

Are you sick at the same time everyday or just all day everyday?

I feel your pain nothing worked for me but i have been having acupuncture in late pregnancy and the acupuncturist said that if i was ever to have another baby I should see her as she reckoned she has really good success with HE. I wish i had known this before, i'm now on dc3 and not likely to have another.

How many weeks are you Clandy?
Might be worth popping over to the hyperemesis support page?

Oh exquistcake you made me cry like a hormonal pregnant woman with your post. Thanks to all you lovely ladies will definitely go and get myself some boiled sweets and the thought of cola bottles is actually making me smile almost!! And will try and flatten some pop.

Yes it's all the time unfortunately first thing in the morning I have to be sick then lunch times and regularly after that. I should count myself lucky that I was able to get pregnant and am carrying a healthy baby and don't get me wrong I really do, I know some women would give their right arm to be in the same position!! Just feeling sorry for myself Sad

Everyone there is lovely, you have obviously got it bad and there will be lots of advice and kind words, don't feel like a fraud as we all understand how depressing and physically draining severe n &v is, especially when you feel like you should be glowing and you may not want to explain to everyone why you're ill :)
Seven weeks can be around the time Hyperemesis starts so keep on top of it, there are meds you can take if necessary.

Thanks fluffy that's really kind Smile I shall check it out and see if I feel brave enough to post Smile was thinking of a visit to docs if it stays/gets worse. It's much harder with this pg as last time I didnt have a lovely dd to chase after and all I want to do is sleep and throw up! She is very cute though and says bless you mummy when she ventures into the bathroom to see where I have run off to!
