Me! I have a nearly 4 year old (her birthday on Saturday!). I'm due at the start of January. I am feeling unusually well. My pelvis kills me at night time, and turning over is crap, but apart from that and heartburn I'm okay! No backache (yet!).

My DD is really playing up though, and she's tiring me out with her constant whinging and moaning and crying. I don't know if it's just a phase or if she is feeling a bit apprehensive about the baby.

my daughter was like that when I was expecting Harry but they really are chums now, even though it annoys the hell out of me that there favourite game is to chase one another round coffee table shrieking when im at my most knackared about tea time lol.

Im due the end of Jan and the heartburn is also playing a major role gaviscon at the ready!!!! I sometimes wonder what other people think when im in the middle of asda swigging from a rather large bottle of gavi x

Me!

I'm due on 24th Jan and I feel like I'm already about to pop! I already have a son who's 21 months, and we're expecting a little girl this time :)

I haven't really got any aches or pains just yet, it's the heartburn that's frustrating me at the moment! We went to the library today and I got out a book for my DS about a new baby in the family, so I'm wondering if it'll help him understand.

He points to my stomach and says 'Daddy!'. Not quite!

harrygraciepie · 10/11/2011 14:10

well u would certainly have heartburn if daddy was in your tummy nooby ha ha.
do u think your little boy will be jealous when new baby arrives? Im a little worried as Harry is a proper mummys boy he cries if i go to make a drink bless him, ive been testing him at playgroup by holding the new babies but he ALWAYS comes running over and wants to be picked up

Haha! I'm blooming pleased he isn't, he's 16st and a rugby player!

I'm not sure TBH honest, I hope not. We went to see some friends who have a two month old recently, and I was holding him then and he didn't seem too bothered. I'm hoping this book I've got from the library might help, but I don't have high hopes as I think it's a little too old for him.

Jack cries when I go away from him too! How old is Harry? We go to this little playgroup every week and he doesn't leave my side...ever. Even when I go and get a cuppa he has to follow me! I so desperately don't want him to feel sad or left out when she arrives, but I don't think I can do anymore until she gets here. I've read that getting them involved with the newborn like helping to bath and changing them is good :)

Harry is 19 months old and a little angel and I agree with u, it breaks my heart to think that he might be hurt when new baby arrives.... but I suppose most kids go through it at some stage....
Ive been reading a miriam stoppard book about how to involve them and as u said, bath time etc seems the way to go, im just hoping ill be able to actually move then, my backs so bad ive just had to arrange for my girly picked up from school ooops..
