Insanely itchy rash - 7 weeks

Hello - first post. I'm 7 weeks on Saturday, and have had a rash since I found out I was pg 2 weeks ago, steadily getting worse, and spreading over my body. First gp was a bit useless, prescribed me hydrocortisone which the pharmacist told me I shouldn't take. Went back on Monday, second gp said it looked viral, and sent me off straight away for urgent blood tests to check for rubella etc. Was supposed to phone me back to let me know what was going on, but forgot, then was off, etc. Anyway, I think the results are fine (from the receptionist), but now I can't get an appt to confirm this, and find out what it is and why it's getting worse. Called the antenatal clinic at hospital and the first gp hasn't sent my referral, and they can't help me anyway. She suggested I go back to the gp. Argh! Been off work since monday, feeling rough, now no idea what to do! Called partner and ended up shouting at him for being insufficiently sympathetic. Anyone had anything similar? Please tell me this won't last another 33 weeks!!

sounds quite early for PUPPP but not impossible. Am on phone so google it, see if it sounds like you?

Did the GP check for liver function in your blood test?

I was prescribed hydrocortisone in pg, it was fine to use although it did fuck all. GP decided that I was allergic to my male baby Confused

oh lordy, tell me about it, I've been itching like a maniac for two weeks now (I'm 13+1). Are you on any meds? I had fertility treatment and have been on progesterone injections for about 10 weeks and ended up having some kind of delayed reaction to it, confimed by my consultant at the fertility clinic. I've heard about pregnancy hives - you might want to google that, although after seeing my GP and another consultant ob/gyn they never even mentioned that as a possibility. Was tested for cholestasis but is waaay too early for that and thankfully negative. I was reluctant to take an antihistamine but they gave me a Piriton in hospital which really helped (and also knocked me out). Also try aqueous cream + menthol - sooo lovely and cooling.

Thanks - still waiting for GP to call back, although she's failed 3 days in a row now. Will ask about PUPPP when I get through, it does sound similar, but I can't find anything about it happening this early on. Think blood test was just viral from form.
My gp is fanatical about not taking anything in first 12 weeks, so has told me not to take Piriton, even though everything I have read says it's fine.

Yes I know what you mean - I would rather scratch than take anything, but the nurse gave it to me in a cup and waited for me take it! Two consultant ob/gyns said it was ok so I had to trust them I guess. But I'm not taking any more. Thankfully the flare-ups are subsiding. Hope the docs can help - I know how crazy the itching can make you!

I have a fairly rank cream called Double Base Gel which I was prescribed the first time round, which I think is like a barrier cream. And I've been covering myself in E45. Have also re-washed all my clothes in sensitive skin washing powder. I am taking Piriton against GPs advice as it's stopping me going completely mad, but it knocks me out too.
Latest from gp, who did call back, is that it's a harmless virus that will just go away, although seeing as it's been 2 weeks I'm not so sure.
Was going to say I'm glad it's not just me, but I wouldn't wish this on anyone! I think I need my hands taped up in oven gloves like Phoebe from Friends...
