water leakage

Beware possible tmi ahead. Just been to the loo, peed and wiped. Then on doing my final wipe, tissue soaked right through, over and over, through about 6 lots. I'd pee'd not long before, so really can't imagine I had that much in me Blush I had a sniff, as it seems the scent is the main way to distinguish between waters and pee, and NO smell.

Ive had no show, no pinkness, nothing. Just this. Rather than sit over the loo, i've popped a pad on and am now sat in bed. I thought I'd check it again in half hour or so.

I posted a few days ago aout period type cramps which have eased, though I do have a 'heavy' feeling by the end of my shift at work each day which I am attributing to tiredness.

Could this be my waters, slowly leaking, or is it possible to leak urine (which may not smell due to drinking lots of water)?

Don't want to wake DH unnecessarily, and am having no pains.

Could be waters, couldn't it? How far along are you?

Sossiges · 09/11/2011 00:35

No such thing as TMI on MN. NEI more like!

LikeACandleButNotQuite · 09/11/2011 00:37

So glad someone's awake! Had visions of sitting twiddling my thumbs mulling it over. Im 34w 5d.

Now all I can think is "do I need to pee????"

If i'd had any pinkness/blood/mucus, I'd ring the hospital as it'd all tie in, but this on it's own? I'd be mortified if I went in and they say its pee Blush

Grin at NEI. Im a prude. Anything is TMI to me!

Is this your 1st? I was shy and retiring until I had my DD Grin

LikeACandleButNotQuite · 09/11/2011 00:53

It is. Everyone keeps telling me how i'll be leaving my dignity at the door of the delivery suite. Dreading it, dont even like communal changing rooms etc. Am hoping to have a rather understanding midwife who will allow me to have a sheet over my legs. Seriously. Its my only concern.

Oh that and the possible pee/waters situation i've got going on. Grin

If I were you I'd try and get some kip, you'll soon wake up if anything happens. It could be pee, I suppose (drinking lots, baby squashing bladder). Hmmm....

Sossiges · 09/11/2011 00:57

Oh yes, I'm sure they'll let you have a sheet, I think the sheet is compulsory actually Smile

LikeACandleButNotQuite · 09/11/2011 00:58

That's true, and got to be up at 6.30 for work. I tested +ve for Strep B a while back, so am conscious that if it is waters, I may be even at a small risk. Ill have a snooze, see what the score is in the morning.

haha, thank god re:sheet.

It doesnt sound like pee tbh. Ring the hospital labour ward and tell them what's happened. They'll be able to advise you whether or not you should go in. Good luck!

Sossiges · 09/11/2011 01:00

Communal changing rooms are utterly awful. Why is everyone else in them always thin and pretty? Hmm

Sossiges · 09/11/2011 01:02

I'd do what you said, Candle. Nighty-night

LikeACandleButNotQuite · 09/11/2011 01:04

Thin, pretty and always trying on the item I want that is out of stock in my size, but avaliable to them in all their size 8 glory

OP posts:
Sossiges · 09/11/2011 01:06

Yes, and the size 8 is always too big for them

LoopyLoopsRootyFroots · 09/11/2011 01:09

This is what to do. PLEASE do it.:

Wear a pad now. Call delivery and tell them. Take their advice.

DTD2 died after this happened to me and I didn't notice. With DD3 I had a similar issue, maternity ward asked me in, examined me, sent me home.

Nothing is more important than making sure everything is fine. DON'T wait. Please. :(

LoopyLoopsRootyFroots · 09/11/2011 01:10

34 weeks is still very early. It is very important to call them now.

TheElvesSawBatgirlKissingSanta · 09/11/2011 01:11

I would call your midwife! I had the same thing at 34 wks. Didnt say anything to anyone as I thought I was just peeing myself...turns out it was my waters! Ds was born 35wks!!

LikeACandleButNotQuite · 09/11/2011 17:28

I wore a pad last night, dry on waking. Dry all day today too. Baby jiggling around exactly as normal. I am thinking possibly hind waters, if waters at all. WIll be keeping very close eye on actvity over the next 24 hours

Go see your midwife, they can test for amniotic fluid. If it is your waters you are leaving yourself at risk for infection, they like labour to be under way within 24 hrs of breaking.
I don't understand why you are taking such a risk especially as it is so early and the baby could need steroids, never mind strep B as well!

LoopyLoopsRootyFroots · 09/11/2011 22:31

No, 34 weeks is too early for any waters. Please believe me.

Did you not hear me when I said my baby died because of this? Ring the bloody midwife.

mumt1 · 09/11/2011 22:31

Sorry to interrupt..I was about to start a post but new I saw something on amniotic fluid somewhere...so I'm 16 weeks and just wondering if its possible that I cud be leaking? Just slightly...past few days ill be cleaning or looking after my 2 year old and ill suddenly feel quite wet and dripping down my leg. Even if I've just been to the toilet it still happens. Even when at college and just sat there ill get up and feel quite wet. Its very thin and watery. Any chance or am I being completely mad? With ds1 I had my waters broke for me in labour so dnt no much about it

Saggyoldclothcatpuss · 09/11/2011 22:36

Both of you, go get checked out.
