Painful lump in right breast

hi
I'm currently almost ten weeks pregnant and have a very tender lump in my right breast. I'm not overly worried but just wanted a little reassurance. Sometimes it feels huge sometimes less so and is more comfortable after a bath. I've had it about 7 weeks now. Is it likely to be a blocked duct or something? Should I mention it to midwife when I go for 12 week scan. Strangely that side has always been more tender even at time if month. Thank you and sorry for being a bit paranoid :-)

I don't really know much about this, but I know its possible to get a blocked milk duct, maybe that's why a bath eases it? Coz its warm and makes some of it move? But the best think you could do is go to the doctor. Always better to be safe then sorry. My sister had one and turned out to be nothing. So don't worry, but deff go and get it checked. Really just for ur peace of mind.you would only be worrying until ur 12 week scan and it really is a doctors issue.7 weeks ago would of made it so u we're 3 weeks pregnant, making you about 1 week since concieving. Which is pretty early for milk flow. I may be wrong as I said I don't know much about this. But I'd get checked if I was in ur predicament. Good look and congrats on ur pregnancy x

I have had painful cysts in the past and got a mammogram which was inconclusive but then ultrasound which eventually identified them as cysts.

I was told that painful lumps are often cysts and nothing more sinister. It's non painful lumps that are the worry.

I would definitely mention it to the midwife, I'm sure they could ultrasound it.

HTH.

Def mention it to MW as an infection could be blocking a duct. They may want to just monitor, but if it's been going on a while, they may want to give antibiotics.
Or it COULD just be a swollen duct from stretching. Either way, they'd want to know. Hot and cold compresses will help. Also, get some decent fitting bras. I cope until 12wks, but wish I'd gone and got fitted a lot sooner. Also got a 'night time' bra to help strap the boogers down. Anything that can help 'take the pressure' off your boobs will help with backpains & sleeping too.
My boobs hurt like f*&^ for the first 7-8 wks. Even wearing clothes hurt them. I've got very lumpy knockers and noticed certain shifting about and they certainly swelled a lot. Have had previous ultrasounds on prepg lumps and they've always been infections.
Also, mine just stopped hurting pretty much overnight. If this happens, don't panic. All's fine.
