I didn't really feel this one until 20/21 weeks. Had a emcs 15 months earlier to that. Normal.

Fifth pregnancy, have always felt baby kick from 16 weeks. This time it was at least 18 weeks and only really properly from around 20 weeks. It is the position of my placenta this time that is preventing me from feeling the early kicks. I still onlyfeel them up high or down low. I've had three sections with 19, 20 and this time 22 months inbetween. I had a doppler this time and gave it away - very hard to get the heartbeat and I could do without the worry. It sounds very normal, esp. if you don't know where your placenta is.

Sorry are you saying there was only a 6 week gap between a C section and getting pregnant again?! Surely not!

lollystix · 31/10/2011 21:22

Was going to say anterior placenta. I had it with my last one and it did make a difference to the movements I felt.

I just can't imagine how the body could conceive again after such major trauma. A natural birth is one thing, but after a C-section?! Poor OP (and your friend).

As for the movements, I'm sure I hadn't felt movement by 17 weeks in either pregnancy, or possibly only just. Don't worry anyway. Smile

MrsHoolie · 31/10/2011 21:44

I didn't feel movement any earlier with my 2nd baby(about 21 weeks).

headfairy · 31/10/2011 21:46

Blimey, is that even safe? What about stress on the scar?

Anyway, I didn't feel dd until she was about 23 weeks cooked. It depends on so many factors, postion of the placenta etc...

scampbell84 · 31/10/2011 22:11

Hi savannah, I have a Ten month age gap between my boys, conceived a few wks after c section. I would maybe suggest that since you r more than likely still numb from c section in that area (I still hav done numbness 6 years on!), there y u r maybe nit noticing any movements. I had a Perfectly healthy baby despite the short age gap, so can't c why done ppl r so surprised about it?!!? I did however go into pre term labour at 33 and 36 weeks, I think it was because my body hadn't quite recovered, but thats not to say u shouldn't have another normal pg! Al the best and don't b put off by the look of shock on peoples faces! It's none of the business! X

Hootie · 01/11/2011 11:18

Position of placenta a huge factor for me. I was so scared my bub had stopped moving but after an emergency scan the placenta has moved down. It was just a shock as I'm 21 weeks and had felt her since 17 weeks. They say it might end up as placenta previa but too early to tell. Just so relieved at moment!

Savannahrose · 01/11/2011 18:28

Hey

Thanks for all your responses

Yep 6 weeks between and very excited actually!!

Scampbell84 thanks for your response. I actually went into early labour with DD at 34 weeks. Do you think it could happen again? Xx

Savannah just be more wary this time, obviously it puts a strain on the body but youl know yourself. I started getting what I thought were Braxton hicks but they wer actually real contractions. I was just doin too much and not takin it easy. Although that's easier said than done with a baby to look after! Just accept help when it's offered! Take care x

OnlyWantsOne · 01/11/2011 19:32

Wow congratulations Smile you'll have your hands fullWink

Flisspaps · 01/11/2011 19:36

Congratulations OP. I wouldn't be worried, I am 17+6 with DC2 and have only had two noticeable movements (and I had a bigger gap between my two)

imip · 01/11/2011 20:24

I have a 10 month age gap b/w my first and second also. My first was born prem but unfortunately did not survive. I was pregnant five weeks later. Both girls were born in the same year. I did find it a huge strain on my body. Regretably, i didn't have a section (long story) with my first. But others in my situation with a short age gap after a classical section (I assume yours was lscs??) have their section a little earlier, say 36 weeks.

BikeRunSki · 01/11/2011 20:29

OMG. I had a uterine rupture in my second labour 3 years after my first emcs

Good luck OP, you are a brave lady.

ledkr · 01/11/2011 21:54

jezebelle · 01/11/2011 23:02
