Pregnancy

Talk about every stage of pregnancy, from early symptoms to preparing for birth.

Now then, you may think this is odd, but.... what do you think of these?

I work as a care assistant, and one of the ladies I care for uses some Tena Lady disposable padded pants. They are elasticated all over the hip, bum and belly area, nice big pad for in between the legs, and I am assured are supremely comfortable.

I can testify that they are very discreet, they are big but you can't see she is wearing it.

And when 'used', you can take the whole caboodle off and throw it away.

So, being 25 weeks pg with second pregnancy, my thoughts have turned to the horrendous post-partum bleeding I had for 2 days after the birth of ds.

These pads seem like such a good idea! No faffing with disposable knickers, no pad slippage, I know these pads rarely leak as they fit snugly. What is the opinion of the masses? Good idea? Bad idea? Basically good but will leave me open to ridicule (I don't care though)?

i think they look like a great idea! i'll pop off and get myself some in prep for birth this time, thanks for the tip

ok, so they are not sexy, but (pardon the pun) so bloody what?? disposable pants and mattress sized pants are hardly any better...

so that'll be 4 of us (3 under 3 + me) in the house in nappies then!!

I think your on to a good thing Colditz.

I may get them this time round. Absolutely hated the paper knickers and brick sized pads.

The only thing I can think of is that I had one of those feme pad things as I had a tear, so if you needed to, where would it go or wouldn't it?

LadyTophamHatt · 28/12/2005 18:53

Yes, good idea BUT wouldn't they be absorbant for wee not blood?

I know they would absorb anything but surely wee is differnet to post pregancy blood

Now that, LTH, is the only good reason I can think of not to get them.

Right, I need someone with super heavy periods to trial these for me..... or I might pop iver to the due in January thread to see if the ladies over there will give them a go after the birth! LOL!

Can imagine what I will get told to do with them....

colditz, i got some of these by mistake, and have used them on ooccasion for periods. they're perfectly fine. but what i did was to use them with a pad, so that i could chuck them away if got blood on them.
they are huge though, so dont think of wearing anything tight.
