Shouldn't this be in the pregnancy topic?

Lifeissweet · 09/10/2011 22:05

fuckity - sorry to hijack, but how are you? I posted on the thread when you had just found out you were pregnant. I take it that all's going well then? I really hope you're doing well and have got used to the idea.

Lifeissweet · 09/10/2011 22:06

Bibbity - I thought that and then decided not to say anything. I am a pedant when it comes to misuse of the AIBU thread.

fuckityfuckfuckfuck · 09/10/2011 22:09

Lifeissweet, I literally just had a PM asking me the same thing! I am great, am sat here enjoying the first little wriggles Grin Dp has really come into his own this last month, we are both happy and looking forward to the future. In an odd way, and not one I would recommend(!) it's made us so much stronger. My dd was told last week and is ridiculously excited. She is enthralled by the idea that the baby is the size of a pear :) SO all is good in the fuckity household, I will namechange back imminently, I did consider a flounce to say goodbye and thank you to everyone, the support I got on that thread was just amazing :)

morethanyoubargainfor · 09/10/2011 22:09

daydream Been doing that for last 9 years! I have now lost 5 stone of that but i must say the only fun thing about it was from 6months ilived in my pj's as nothing else fitted, so i was the person who went to work in her pj's Grin. The other time that was good fun was when i was 38 weeks i went to my friends fancy dress 70/80's party as a disco ball!! Grin. a size 26 disco ball, can you imagine! (i was a size 8-10 pre-pregnancy)

Hi there
We're moving this thread to Pregnancy.

Thanks
MNHQ

OP - i tried to avoid the scales wherever possible. DS2 was about 80% custard cream biscuit when he was born Grin

Your blood volume goes up by about a third. Placenta weighs a fair bit, though more later, but a pound or so, maybe 2. You should store some fat, that is normal. Water, as well, apart from the blood volume. Yep, I reckon any less and you should be trying to gain more!

Lifeissweet · 09/10/2011 22:15

So pleased for you, Fuckity. I always hoped that's how it would work out for you. I had a feeling you wanted the baby and I was just a little bit ahead of you in the same situation, so it's great to hear that it's going well for you too. Let us know when you change your name!

notlettingthefearshow · 09/10/2011 22:25

That sounds normal!

I hadn't put on anything but only because of nausea.

TimeWasting · 09/10/2011 22:35

I'd prob lost weight by that point. No morning sickness either.
Not very smug, I'm very fat already and did not need to put any weight on. Grin

I believe average is 2 stone in total, less if you're fatter, more if you're a skinny, but everyone's different.
Eat what you want, when you're hungry, try to look after yourself. Smile

LikeABlackFlameCandleBNQ · 09/10/2011 23:06

In all honesty, 3 pounds. However, had morning sickness every night, and literally everything id eaten that day would come back up, so if I had no/less MS, it'd be much more.

Im now 30.3 and in total is a stone so far.

DaydreamDolly · 10/10/2011 07:32

I think I may try to lay off the Mars ice creams for a bit anyway..... Grin

Well i'm 16 weeks now and have lost a stone and i believe the will to live Sad , nothing stays in at all though, with DC1 i was 2 stone lighter when i had her than when i got pregnant.

Although i made up for that once she was here, by putting 4 on Grin

everyone is different and i think i would have preferred to gain both times.

LoveInAColdClimate · 10/10/2011 08:24

11lb - was 8:10, now 9:7.

Sandra2011 · 10/10/2011 10:00

Now at 20 weeks I have gained 1.5 kg, just over 3 pounds.

I have been eating as much as I normally do. Don't have any gravings.

twogirls1more · 10/10/2011 11:41

I would say that sounds a good gain and not too excessive. I'm on pregnancy no.4 and still had a stone of baby weight from my last I hadn't shifted by the time I fell preg this time so have been a bit more careful! (was a size 16 at the start.) I'm 35wks preg now and have put on a stone and half so far..(trying not to put on anymore and now my weight seems to have settled.) Put on 2 stone with all my other 3 which seems to be what my pregnant bod seems to be happy with!

Mouseketool · 10/10/2011 12:18

about 10lbs

kiki22 · 10/10/2011 12:38

I'm 24 weeks and have put on just under a stone but was very sick for first 20 weeks so think i would have put on more if i wasn't chucking it all back up!

On a Trimester Basis:

? First trimester: 1 pound per month ~ (about 4lb) in the first three months.
? Second trimester: 1 pound per week for the next three months ~ (12 - 14lb) in total.
? Third trimester: around 1 pound per week ~ (12lb) over the last three months.

BeyondLimitsOfTheLivingDead · 10/10/2011 12:43

With DS I was sick up til about 16 weeks and lost a stone. I was the same weight at my 6w check as I was pre-preg?! Two dress sizes bigger though!

14+4 atm and weighing the same as at my booking in, though look 6m preg! Been very sick again, no idea why I havent lost weight this time though?
