Morning ladies,

After a frustrating admission last week which what turned out to be false labour, probably just very painful braxton hicks, everything had slowed down so I thought maybe I may get to my section date (20/10). Am 37+3 today.

Last night my belly just felt really uncomfortable, not contraction-type pian like last week, but just very achey so not much sleep was had! For the last couple of days I've had a bit of gunky discharge but it's either been clear or very pale green. This morning, however, there was a lot more and it was definitely blood tinged so I'm pretty confident it was a show.

I'm sat here now and my belly is really aching, and I've got some period type pains too. The baby is moving quite a lot, which I though was a sign that they were not on their way, but am I wrong? Also, (and sorry TMI) I'm really windy!!!!

So, I know I should probably just sit here and see what happens. But I really want my ELCS so am worried I'll wait too long and end up getting to hospital and having to go through a totally unprepared VBAC! I'm just not convinced my symptoms will be enough for the MW's to be willing to examine me though, as everything is a bit "wolley" at the moment.

This is exactly the time that DS turned up too, though I know every pregnancy is unique....

wow overwhelmed - does sound like something could be happening...how are you feeling now?

I too woke up in the night thinking my waters were going to break- I had a very weird feeling low down in my pelvis, like a inflated balloon was about to pop. Of course, absolutely nothing has happened (think i'm just getting worked up & worried about impending section!). Hopefully by this time tomorrow.... :)

Well still at home, nothing significant has happened, boo! I've got mild cramps but that's about it. MIL is going home shortly, really don't think we can justify asking her to stay over as my symptoms are sooooooooo mild right now. She certainly thinks I've got a fair amount of time left, anyway. I'd happily have another two weeks of mat leave if the symptoms would stop, but that constant uncertainty is ridiculous!

Icrave are you ready? NOt long now till you're a new mummy again!

And now MIL has gone home...

Any more pains, overwhelmed?
I had more show, DH insisted I call maternity unit, went in and ended up being kept in overnight for observation but got home yesterday. Bit of an anti-climax, and all settled now. Hope you're ok?

Hello! I actually had a pretty calm night last night, slept fairly well apart from the toilet breaks Grin and today I've had the odd twinge but nothing much at all. I was so nervous when MIL left last night but it really does all seem to have calmed to a halt. Maybe it will be another few weeks after all? IWILL what did they say at the unit? Did they have much to say about the show? Or are they being super-cautious with you with your SPD (understandably!). Icrave must have her baby by now, she was booked in today.

Hi
The MW who was discharging me, when I mentioned the show, said that was the first she's heard of it, even though it was all over my notes, then told me I should have been showing all signs of it to them all along....don't think staff communicate in there with each other at all! But she said so long as it's pink, it's nothing to worry about, only if it's bright red. Another mw said it doesn't mean much, it's just like baby saying "hi mum, nearly ready, seeya soon...." Grin
As for pains, one MW said they mean nothing unless they're coming at least every 20mins and there will be no ambiguity when the real labour starts, you won't be asking yourself "is it/isn't it?".....you will just know it's your time.
Was put on CTG a couple of times. Afterwards, both times, they told me it's showing nothing, but yet when I read my notes afterwards, they had written I was contracting 2 in 10 (averaging twice in 10mins??), second CTG said 0 in 10. So when I went in on Wed night I was actually contracting but just not enough for it to be established labour?? Wish they explained things to me. Who knows?
How are you today?

feelingratheroverwhelmed · 08/10/2011 12:30

That's how I was last thursday, first CTG 2 in 10, then gradually less. REALLY frustrating, I fel your pain! It seems to be quite typical in those places that they don't speak to each other, or tell you exactly what was going on. It's really annoying, I know!
I'm just super grumpy today, had a few pains but nothing significant. Was a bit uncomfortable in the night and actually thought "maybe I should get them checked out" but after reading your post I see there's no point, they aren't significant.
I had really convinced myself this one would come at the same time as DS (so a couple of days ago) so I'm struggling with the fact that I'm still going, even though I'm only 38 weeks tomorrow. I need to start relaxing and enjoying the time I've got left, but I'm so tired, grumpy, DS is being a typical toddler (though DH has taken him out now), that I just can't appreciate it! Think I'm getting a cold too.

Oh I so need to start whinging, don't I?

Oohh, TMI but just had a REALLYbig show, so much so I was trying to work out if it was more than a show and would class as a bleed, decided it wouldn't! Wonder if it's significant.....?

ooohh a big show then? What colour?
I'm really grumpy and hormonal today too. Ditto toddler being typically toddlerish, but fortunately DH here today to deal with it. Had some bright red spotting, but only a tiny tiny bit, so am sitting tight.... Very crampy but nothing significant enough.

feelingratheroverwhelmed · 09/10/2011 11:42

Morning iwill! Still symptom spotting with nothing really significant! Had loads of cramps as I was going to sleep last night, ok overnight but it's started again this morning. So DH has kindly taken DS out to see family today to leave me to relax, god love him! Have just had yet ANOTHER show, tinged with a lot of brown, similar to yesterday but not quite as much. I'm coming to realise that the show really doesn't mean very much! I'm clearly shedding lots of stuff from down there but it doesn't seem to make any difference Confused.
Less grumpy today though, which is nice!
How are you today???

Gah. Feel so rotten. Hope your show comes to something more... Nothing much happening here, just stop-start strong BHs and sore from head to toe. Dunno how I'm going to cope tomorrow on my own at home with DD :( Just want this all over with.

feelingratheroverwhelmed · 11/10/2011 18:51

Had pains on Sun night so went in yesterday to get checked out. They kept me in as I was 1cm dialated, more pains last night, now 2cm dialated, but the pains keep stopping so they've sent me home and are adamant the ELCS will not go ahead until next thur as planned. Even more frustrating! (If I progess enought before I'm put on the EMCS list)
The midwives and the reg all said I was the ideal candidate for VBAC too, as I got to fully dialiated last time. THe reg promised me the moon on a stick if I went for it (really early epidural, very close monitoring and straight in for a section if if gets even slightly tricky) but I said that I was still stuck on my ELCS.

So, lets see if I do make it to next thursday!
