Hi, i have had niggily cramps for the last couple of weeks which i know is normal, but today lasting about 2 hours i have had very severe cramps, enough to make me get upset by the pain and unable to stand up,also have felt very faint and shaky i have had no bleeding but feel so worried

I rang my G.P and he said to leave it 24hrs and then ring him back.I am going out of my mind and dont know what to do

Anyone any experience or advice?

Could it be a miscarriage/ectopic?

In the meantime, drink lots of water in case it is a Urinary tract infection. Good luck.

how is the pain now? you can take paracetamol and i think paracetamol plus codeine - but check that one.

littlechristmaself · 19/12/2005 16:40

I have taken some paracetamol which has helped slightly, just feel very woozy now, just going to try and rest which is difficult with a 2yo! but dh is home from work so he can help out.

Also pucca, just incase it is a uti drink some cranberry juice, this can help ease the discomfort and keep any recurring uti's at bay.

Glad to hear it's on Wednesday.

Let us know how you get on.

NotQuiteCockney · 19/12/2005 17:32

It's true that they can't do anything about a miscarriage. But an ectopic pregnancy puts your life at risk, so is absolutely worth getting checked for! If you get dizziness, fainting, lots more pain, or bleeding, you might want to go to A+E.

how are you doing today?

pucca · 20/12/2005 21:32

BK...I am ok today, the cramps have eased off, and i am feeling very sick (more than before) which can only be good.

I debated with myself whether to phone and cancel the scan as i feel a bit of a fraud now and don't want to waste their time...and if i was further on i think i definately would but to wait till 12 week scan would be 5-6 weeks which would drive me mad, want to be certain everything is ok after yesterday.

Thanks for asking BK.
