I have gone from a 34 C to a 38DD and am dying here! Bascially just got measured (again!) and it seems that it doesn't matter what bra I choose... mama's & papas, M&S, John Lewis... the bras just keep hurting around the band. Even when the band is loose it somehow cuts and is red/raw it. Given that I am currently a 38DD free hanging isn't really an option. Ideal would be some type of support vest that doesn't have a band under the breasts... anyone know where I can get something like this!

HELP!!!

PS I have similar sized boobs to the OP, lest you think they won't be supportive enough!

I find the size 14-16 ones fit my 38Es! Honestly, buy them, I can't sing their praises enough!

I'v given up with Normal bras- for me the only way is sports bras they hold u in great support and don't hurt Smile

I have had exactly the same problem, I am 14 weeks pregnant, and while my old bras (32FF) fitted in the cup, I was starting to get red welts at the front above the rib cage and on the back towards the sides. Really uncomfortable.

In the past I have always bought my bras from Bravissimo, but I went to Rigby & Peller (nearest 'proper' bra shop to my house) and got myself fitted again with the most amazingly comfortable, non-rubbing, seamless cup bra with padded straps. The brand is Anita, and the model is Rosalie or something like that. My new bra is size 36GG...I do wear the bra on the tightest hook at the moment, but it means there is plenty of room for growth.

You can buy Anita bras on figleaves.com as well.

I cannot believe the difference, it is such a relief.

Oops I meant to say my bra from Rigby & Peller is called Anita 'Rosa Faia'.

Bravado maternity/nursing bras are your friend. I have been wearing theses since about 9 or 10 weeks (37 now), could not bear anything tight on me at all. They are stretchy and supportive , and grow with you. I was a 36D pre pg, about 38E now. I was fitted by an NCT bra fitter (v good service) and have been wearing a Ex Large.

I bought some t shirts with high lycra content last time (10%) for the days when bras were impossible, I also wore them in bed in the winter to give some support !

Do you have a decent sized H and M near you? I got a great bra there last week, it's an underwired nursing one and it's so comfy, it's been a relief. Only about 12 quid iirc.

pregnantmimi · 10/10/2011 23:01

Im a 36 e and I cannot find a bra thats comfy so I dont wear one unless I have to and I have tryed every bra from everywhere if I do wear one I end up having to ping them open at the back even if im measured correctly they just hurt and under my boobs it hurts I could do with someone holding them up for me lol

hells1908 · 11/10/2011 02:36

Yes, it's horrendous isn't it, and mine are also killing me at night...what about trying some of those vests with built in support shelf?? That's my next step!
