Would you buy a second hand pram?

I'm thinking about getting a second hand travel system in really good condition. Its half th price of it new. Do you think it's okay to buy second hand? Am I being cheap?? I will buy a brand new car seat.

Most of DS (pfb)'s stuff has been second hand; pram, cot, buggy, most clothes. Shoes and car seats have been new. DD (I am 37 wks pg) will get this stuff too. Like me, she'll be a girl with an older brother and a lot of navy and green in her wardrobe. Unlike me, her mum is an Ebay fiend, so she may get some pink and purple stuff too!

Alpinepony £4k! I'm a serious pram additct and can't think what they've bought! Do post about it when you see it! I'm intrigued!

You bet, I will also try and get a photo - obv. if it's not travelling faster than the speed of light or something - or is not in camoflage mode. Wink

I wonder if it's got a little motor, and a buggyboard big enough for the mum to stand on? That's my perfect pram.

Thanks Ladies, you have all made me feel better about it. I knew it was the right thing to do, juts need some assurance. We have bought the pram and it's amazing! Super pleased with it, It's all been cleaned kindly by the seller and I am soo happy with it!!

I am very interested in this £4k pram, why why why would you spend that amount of money on a pram, not even the Beckhams surely would do that?? How much are the spending on everything else, I shudder to think!!

Water-proofed refridgerated cabinets for bringing the shopping home? Integrated coffee machine? Flattering lighting shone on to mum's bum?

gemz The irony is they didn't pay for it. Delighted friends & family did a whip-around. Tbf, the boyfriend is less than amused as they wanted to buy their own house this year and mentally (and vocally to my boyfriend) he's saying "that would've been the bloody kitchen". But of course he daren't say anything to the missus.

I'm glad you've got your pram and love it though. I very much agree with another poster who said that the money can be spent on the child rather than the kit . I'd rather pay for piano lessons, or ski lessons or blah blah. :)

You are not a skinflint OP, you are sensible. And what Alpine says is absolutely right - spend your money on taking your baby to Gymboree or Baby Swimming or some other fun activity rather than on prams you use for six months and then you try and sell them and weep at how much money you've lost.

I've never understood people who spend a lot of money on prams. But then I drive a really crappy car too ...
