Please reassure me that its normal to feel like this! Suddenly feel like my pregnancy, which up to now has felt like an age, has gone too fast and baby is going to be here in a couple of days and im going to be a mum and im scared to death! What if I cant do it?! I moved into a new house at the weekend and I suddenly have this completely different life and no time to get used to it. Keep thinking if I just had another week or another 2 weeks to get my head round it id be okay which I know is ridiculous cos ive had nearly 9 months but im just panicking!

Perfectly normal.

I was the same when DD was born...and even some days now I think the same (she's 18mo!)

Are you being induced for any medical reason? If not, you can wait a bit longer :)

You can do it though. It's terrifying and exhausting and relentless and noisy and wonderful :)

Of course you can do it! I bet everyone feels like that and I'm sure I will when I get that far.
good luck with your induction and enjoy your lovely new baby.

Sounds absolutely normal! Am starting to feel that way about the imminent arrival of dc2!

And good luck for Sat Smile I was induced with ds1 and it was fine

Thanks ladies! Type 1 diabetes so no choice in the matter, will be 38+4 on Sat so have done amazing to get this far without any complications. Need something to distract me I think, Mr virgin media not coming to hook my tv up till tmrw, not a good week to have been without it!

Totally normal exactly how I felt. And told that to everyone who said bet you can't wait to meet/get baby out.

Most mums I know had a bit of a period of adjustment or a moment or two of "what have I done". TBH everyone I know is just making it up as they go along, as best they can - I think that's all you can do. I always have those feelings of just wanting a little bit more time, pretty much about everything, but like you say, you've had 9 months and I expect you are prepared just as well as anyone ever is!

I think if you were waiting for labour to start on it's own, it maybe wouldn't be as bad, because there would be no timescale to it - you have a definite date that you are moving towards - I found that very daunting when I was induced. Added to the upheaval of moving, it must be a bit unsettling!

I moved house to a completely new area a few days before I found I was pg with DD1, and it did really change how we'd planned things for after the move. But it was also brilliant being pg, because it opened up lots of opportunites to go to bump and baby groups and meet other new mums, many of whom have turned into good friends nearly five years later.

Your feelings do seem perfectly normal. Good luck with the induction, and enjoy your lovely baby.
