Hi all,
Probably me being a complete stress head again but as my title says I'm 18 wkd today & have very low down period like pain. I am feeling baby moving & movements are a bit lower down & I have been doing loads of cleaning & tidying. No bleeding or anything like that. Is this just my uterus stretching? Baby beating me up inside?
I just love this little baby so much already & am always so scared something will go wrong x

It really is a disgrace. The phone number my midwife has given me to phone 24hrs in case of worries is only the phone number of the A&E triage of the closest hospital. It's the biggest and newest in Scotland and yet, there was no midwife to see me. I don't feel like they looked after me at all...

I have not felt the baby move as much yet today as she usually does, so I just hope that that is because I'm only 19 weeks. Do GPs have a doppler btw? I have my 20 week scan on Tuesday so that will tell me more...

phlossie · 15/09/2011 18:24

I have my 20wk scan on Tuesday too, MrsH. If you go on antenatal clubs on the talk board and find the february bus you'll find a whole group of us due at the same time. I recognise your name, so you might have been there already. I bought a doppler for a tenner on ebay!

MrsHuxtable · 15/09/2011 18:48

phlossie,
yes, I was on that bus before but never went back because I was so worried. It's probably time to come back now if you will still have me ;)
Do those dopplers at home work?

phlossie · 15/09/2011 19:35

It hasn't arrived yet! I'm a bit worried I won't be able to find a heartbeat and it'll make me more worried!

Moominsarescary · 15/09/2011 20:43

I know the angel sounds Doppler is realy good

MrsHuxtable · 15/09/2011 21:11

Will def buy one of those then. I really don't know how all these women get through their pregnancies without turning into nervous wrecks...

Moominsarescary · 15/09/2011 21:54

Im a nervous wreck till the baby is about 12 weeks old, I've not been so bad up untill now this time but I think that's because ds3 is just turning 6 months so has kept me busy and taken my mind off the worrying ( and I'm bloody knackered )

Squiglettsmummy2bx · 15/09/2011 22:01

This is my 3rd, sure I wasn't this stressy before but my mum says I was. The pains were not timeable like contractions & have gone today as I have rested so think I just need to stop the ott nesting. I've broken up with my partner recently so think I just need to take a step back, relax & enjoy my pregnancy. I wanted a Doppler but know that if I couldn't find a heartbeat I would freak out. Baby is a real wriggler & I am starting to see the movements rather than just feel them now.
I've seen that ligament pains get worse with each pregnancy? I would have thought I was all stretched out by now, lol.

Wow moomin I bet you are tired, I am exhausted just thinking about running around after a 6 month old!

I can't imagine how tired the two of you must be looking after other small children as well. I'm a very panicky first-timer so have only myself to look after. Glad to hear your pains are better Squigletts. I've been slightly better today as well.
I made myself a hot water bottle a while ago for my backache and then thought I'd give it to my cat for a little while first. It's now an hour and a half later and she's still hogging it. Thing I need to switch the kettle on again Hmm

Moominsarescary · 15/09/2011 22:25

Sorry about your recent break up, I know my pains were defanatly worse last time, yes I'm shattered although the baby has started sleeping abit better these last few weeks, he gets up at 11-12 for a bottle then goes back till 6.30

Luckily my eldest two are 16 and 8 so have been helping out abit, ds1 has just started college but it's only 3 days a week so has been picking up his brother from school when he's around which has been good when the all day morning sickness is bad

Squiglettsmummy2bx · 15/09/2011 22:34

MrsH tell the cat it is your turn Smile glad the pains aren't so bad.
Moomins thank you, I'm distracting myself by looking at ridiculously priced prams as my mum is buying mine Grin & shopping makes me very happy. My dd is 8 & my ds is 6 so they have been helping out & looking after me & my bump. That all day sickness was a nightmare but thankfully mine has hone now, are you still feeling sick?

It's not so bad now, I've been sick tonight but it's the first time this week. Was realy worried in the beginning that it would be as bad as last time and I'd struggle with looking after the baby but luckily the sickness has been worse at night when he's in bed

Squiglettsmummy2bx · 15/09/2011 23:08

Awww poor you. I really thought mine would never end & trying to get my kids ready for school while my head was down the loo was a nightmare but now other than the odd occasion I am fine in that department. Then there was the wind pain, the carpel tunnel, the mad exhaustion when I just wanted to sleep forever & now the stretching pains, lol. Love my bump so much though & am making all my tops bobbley as I am constantly rubbing my belly Smile
Guess I better sleep now, maybe I'll do a full night tonight as I'm heading off quite late. Hope you all sleep well Smile

Did you find the holidays hard work? I was exhausted! Lots of days out with my two (dd's nearly 4 and ds is 5 1/2). Having them back at school is much calmer. But I've been up since just before 6am! Had a weird dream, then couldn't stop worrying about baby. Wish I was feeling movements a bit more definitely, that would help!

Moominsarescary · 16/09/2011 08:01

I did though though I was glad of the break from the school run. I feel the same, he's not moving much yet so I spend a it of the day waiting for movement.

It's suddenly dawned on me this week that if he's as early as ds3 he could be here in 14 weeks and we realy need to move first!

Squiglettsmummy2bx · 16/09/2011 08:40

Oh yeah the hols were hard work as my kids are used to going out all the time & I had this real need to do as much as possible as it was our last summer as a 3. Throw in my 6 yr olds birthday, party & chicken pox & it was a bit mad but I was gutted when they went back.
I went to bed later last night & slept through until 6.20 which was nice as I have been waking every couple of hours & struggling to get back to sleep.
Hope everyone has a good day Smile
