congratulations on your successful pregnancies ladies! Care to share any tips that led to your happy pregnancies. Been ttc for 2+ years. No success. Had mc in March at 8+2 weeks. Fertility checks fine for both parties. Maybe we're not doing things right?! Please share! TIA

wrigglebum I actually heard about it from the ttc boards while I was ttc. We tried it for #2 after taking 2 years the first time, I got pregnant in the fourth month of trying. The only exeption is that I tracked my cervical position and mucus and I don't think the test sticks are that great tbh.

I also heard somewhere that eating fresh pineapple or drinking fresh juice (not the concentrate stuff) during the 2ww can help with implantation. Worth a try if you like pineapple!

Not very helpfully, I was TTC for 2 years. Stopped to go back on the pill for a break, and got pregnant.

So my tip (it seems) is go back on the pill Grin

I think it was 1000mg, which is really high - it's meant to correct a luteal phase defect (although had been taking for months with no discernsable effect).

Diet depends on your "type" (there's a book called the Baby Making Bible which deals with this) - for me the big thing was no dairy and hot breakfast.

Good luck!

Don't think I'm brave enough to even contemplate going on the pill, but will certainly look up baby making bible! Smile

A doctor friend of mine said to try every other day becuase you get better quality sperm then. Also would give a thumbs up for Zinc - worked wonders for us.

Hi Wishing we were ttc for 20 months. Doc told me I wasn't ovulating because the blood test on day 19 showed so!! I then got referred to the fertility clinc and yes I ovulated just later in the month. We were both on zinc tablets and vitamin C plus I was taking Folic Acid. My hospital consultant recommended Clear Blue digital ovulation kits (I think cheaper than the monitor). They were great for pin pointing the right time, but we still didn't conceive. The consultant then told us that the sperm needs to be there for a few days (2-3 days) before ovulation to actually be any good. I was then not drinking each month between ovulation day and the start of my period. 6 months on I was fed up of this though, so ditched the not drinking and fell pregnant.

I also had a pillow (or 3) under my bum after each time we DTD. A friend recommended handstands - but I am not that athletic!!

Good luck, it can take time but you will get there. I think the key thing for us was not getting hung up about it, which I do know is a lot easier said than done.

Thanks so much for your support ladies. Ttc is such a lonely place to be when you cannot confide in anyone in RL - and babies are popping up everywhere, bless them- would be so fantastic if just one would pop up for us?!

Took over five years to conceive ds, 2 1/2 years of not using contraception, but not really trying iyswim and 2 1/2 of trying, and you know what I think made a really big difference was coke (the drink) gave up coke and conceived three months later and they say things take three months to make any difference. so maybe look at your caffeine intake. We also used ovualtion sticks for about a year and as soon as I stopped I got preg, so I think they are very inaccurate. Also have sex every other day or the whole month as I'm sure I don't ovulate at the right time, so start early in the month and carry on going.

Pillow under bum is good advice and if you can don't up after sex until the morning.

and I think I've alsways concevied while on hoilday.

Griphook: this is terribly embarrassing... I am sat here wailing like a baby at your and other mnetters generous advice. I shall try and follow as closely as I can. It's weird how, when younger we try everything in our power to prevent pregnancy, and years later we would gladly donate a limb in exchange for a baby of our own. Maybe in today's society we are losing sight of what should come first?! Can't have everything though: career or cradle? It's a hard one. Sorry for the rant. Thanks for precious advice x
