Hello all. I am 40 weeks plus 2 days so far, and hoping in fact that baby doesn't arrive until Thursday!

I know it will come whenever it's ready, and at the end of the day, I just want it to get here safely.

I just think an end of August baby means it will start school a couple of days after it's 4th birthday Sad. I know plenty of people who have been fine doing this, but it would have almost a year less time at home than DD whose birthday is later in the year and therefore earlier in the school year.

and also I will have to go back to work sooner Grin

If one more person asks me if I've 'had any signs yet?' I'm gonna explode!
Especially my mum who of course would be told straight away... Although I'm considering not telling her now Blush

ChippingIn · 31/08/2011 18:50

Well done all - looking good Grin

pookamoo · 31/08/2011 21:00

I think we're almost ok now - 3 hour labours aren't that common, are they?

If you're being pestered, send them to:

Incidentally, DD was born 2 days after DH's birthday, kezz and DH had exactly the same feeling, that he didn't want to have to share his birthday forever more!

Kezz - yes, I forgot to say - you are wise not to want to share your birthday. My friend shares her with her DS and she's not had 'her' birthday since he was born. It's not ideal. Don't feel bad about not wanting that!!

We need a roll call don't we!

pookamoo · 31/08/2011 21:49

Definitely, this is turning into a mini ante-natal thread!
I'll start:

Pookamoo, DC2, EDD: 26 Aug

Looks like we made it!! Woop woop!

Never mind about being asked if the baby is here yet, over the last week I have had the following conversation about 10 times
Them: God you are absolutely enormous. You're going to drop any minute.
Me: Yes I know. The signs are starting to appear, so I, the hospital consultant and the midwife think its going to be any day now.
Them: That's just wishful thinking. You'll most likely be 2 weeks late.

WTF?! How can you call me a big fat heffer and delusional about my impending labour symptoms in the course of two statements?!! Grin

Anyhoo... MsChanandlerBong, DD1, EDD: 15 Sept

Kezzamo · 31/08/2011 22:08

How true about the any signs thing! I mean seriously like what!! apart from waters etc!! My mom is the same and my husband. Like I wouldnt tell them straight away!

I went out without my phone to day in rebellion! ha

To add insult to injury my friend who is not due for another 2 weeks has had her baby today. She wasnt due until 3 weeks after me and Im a week (ish) late and she was early!!!

I really hope I dont have to be induced.......

I think we are all safe for the next school year though! yeah to clever top of the class children!!

nannyl · 31/08/2011 22:55

Wahoo

I can accept that my baby is going to be a september planned

back in december 2010 i was so sure that baby wouldnt be early.... but as im 38+3 now, the last few days / weeks i have been less convinced

think its september now, as wont be here in 1 hour surely? Grin

lolajane2009 · 31/08/2011 23:41

20 minutes, lol. i dont think he's coming today

KateBC · 01/09/2011 00:19

Hope everyone who wanted to made it! Saw midwife today who said she thinks i have the baby by the weekend, so now going from crossing my legs to willing the labour to start Grin. Apparently he's going to be big, so the sooner the better

DS2, EDD September 17th

lolajane2009 · 01/09/2011 00:42

I'm due the day before and havent seen my midwife since last week but then he was still not even slightly engaged. I hate being late to anything but I have a feeling he wont mind.

Jill72 · 01/09/2011 07:00

How did you all do then?? Did you all make it into september??

nannyl · 01/09/2011 07:57

made it Grin

justhayley · 01/09/2011 08:27

This thread is so funny, I don't think I would have ever thought about what school year the baby would be in - I can just about think about tomorrow without getting confused at the moment lol.

I want to speak to my parents about this, my dad was born aug 28th and mum sept 5th - yep I grew up with two Virgo parents who both had to do things their way or no way - always fun! Never really thought about it but wonder how they thought about being the baby and the oldest in their classes.

I was an April 10th baby so was smack bang in the middle of everyone,
My DP is march 29th so pretty much the same and our baby is due April.

I hope everyone who wanted September babies made it.

Good luck for the births when ever they are, I hope they are all quick and as easy as pushing a human out of u can be ;)

Xx

pookamoo · 01/09/2011 10:13
