Looking for a good fertility clinic in London

Hi -
I would be grateful if anyone can recommend a fertility clinic in London. We have tried ARGC over the past year and had a terrible experience. They did not share a lot of information with us (untill I demanded a copy of all the medical notes) and there are many difficulties for me to concieve. I have also tried accupuncture and now seeing a Naturopath and Western Medical Herbalist.
We are thinking of CRM as we live in NW1 - has anyone tried this?

People sometimes go to Lister as an alternative to ARGC, many also consult Dr. Gorgy, who does similar immune treatments.

The CRGH has excellent results and the embryologists are really good. They don't do much hand holding but they deliver the goods.

I really would not rate the lister, had a terrible experience there (for which they issued compensation) and you always have to wait ages.

When I saw the thread title I thought instantly ARGC. I don't understand them "not sharing" info - they are possibly the last business on the planet to still have paper notes, which are handed over at each visit! I spent many hours pouring over every detail of mine! What did they withold from you? Did you have a full cycle with them? What did they say the problem was?

It's rather a leap fro one end of the scale to the other to have gone from ARGC to a naturapath and a herbalist!

I had one appointment at the CRGH and hated it - felt like a factory, made to wait, appointment wasn't at all personal etc. But I know lots of people rate them highly.

We went to the London Fertility Centre instead under Dr Goswamy's care last Oct/Nov and were successful first time. I had 2 initial consultations with him when he was in London and then he looked at my notes from his practice in Mauritius, with the link being Mandy Godwin as the lead nurse/co-ordinator who was great. Dr Goswamy was phasing out of the centre then though so not sure what the current state of play is or whether Mandy is still there.

i had IVF at Guy's three times and found it quite good and actually a lot cheaper than many other places. the only thing though is they do not tailor treatment very much to the individual so compared to ARGC i'm sure it would feel very "one size fits all." You can pay extra for consultant-led care though and I think that would make a big difference.
I had IUI once at CRM and it seemed ok, also was going to go there to find out about donor eggs but found out i was pregnant the day of the appointment! i've also heard very good things about the Lister.
best wishes.

Like bagofholly I also read the title and came on here to recommend the ARGC-am v surprised to hear your experience as it couldn't be more different to mine.

If you're trying some alternative therapies maybe worth giving acupuncture a go as well? I found this lady fantastic

Very much horses for courses. I started off at CRGH and hated it - impersonal, uninformative etc. Had treatment at the Bridge Centre. We were lucky enough to get pregnant first cycle, which if course colours my opinion of them. I would recommend that wherever you end up be as informed as possible in advance and fight our corner for anything you want/don't want. They really do listen to those who make the most noise!
