Sweep last night, now feeling sick

Exactly as it says really! Anyone have this, and if you did did the sweep work or not? Not had anything else apart from some period-cramping (which has been going on for days) and some light pains and backache last night on the way home - not even the show that the consultant said I would get!

Forgot to say I think it can take 48 hours (?) to have an effect ... ? Did the MW mention the state of your cervix? I was more interested to know that than in having the sweep really.

ditavoncheese cant believe you've been running in your state! Wink
My DS tried to escape throught the park gates last week, and I had to sprint to catch him.
My hips, fanny and stomach were well aching afterwards - and I'm only 33 weeks!!
Good point about the cervix, I think it does depend on the position?
I have a few friends who had a sweep, and it didn't work for them, as of the position of the cervix? ( I was also 2cm dialated when she did the sweep)

No, consultant didn't say anything except that he could feel the membranes and baby's head was still high. But he definitely said head, not that the cervix was. Re-read my notes and he hasn't commented there either :(

Still no show, nothing even vaguely resembling the tiniest drop of blood, so quite what he meant when he said I would have a show I don't know. Maybe he meant I'd get to see Harry Potter?

del I had little choice really, she was running towards a road - unbelievably quiet road admittedly, but a road nonetheless. And yes, I definitely regretted it. The worst thing was when I was complaining about not knowing what to do with DD today (pre-school has finished, no baby groups on) and DH suggested I take her for a walk. The PGP means I'm not really supposed to walk much at all but at the time I was barely able to stand. I did actually nearly burst into tears.

If he could feel the membranes that's probably a good sign. With my very first one (with DD) my cervix was still clammed up and it was agony. This time I was 2 cm dilated (though only I think because it never goes back) and "thinning" so was much better.
