hi all, looking for some buddies who fancy having a little moan about aches and pains, annonymously, without boring DH or friends to death !!!

I am 24 weeks, i have recently "ripped a muscle" in my belly, have a bad back, bit of sciatica, spd coming on, wicked heartburn & headaches. And i am only 33 !!! dont know how i am gonna make it to the end with all my pains :-( & just want to feel fit & bouncy again !!!

Im 23 weeks and starting to get SPD.

Am going to try crainial oestopath as in the past she has sorted my headaches and lower back pain. I know half of how I feel is due to bad sleep position. Also hoping it may help heartburn which I have always suffered from.

cookie9 · 10/07/2011 10:51

Hope you all surviving the weekend. Had a bad night and was apparently groaning so had dh waking me up to ask if I was ok the last time being at 4.30 am when he claimed he couldn't remember waking me the other times. Took painkiller and went back to bed then had half an hour of dh snoring at this point to avoid murder went to sleep in spare room. Feeling milder better now having just listened to my hypnobirthing cd although the due date seems so far away at present.

MissusTulip · 10/07/2011 16:44

hee hee cookie - I too wanted to inflict harm on DH for snoring last night, tho it wasn't the worst he's been, and in fact, I am just as big an offender in the snoring stakes as he is now Blush. He says he could hear me downstairs snoring away after I gave up and went to bed at 10pm last night.

It wasn't really him snoring waking me tbh, it's the joy of only being able to sleep 2 hrs max at a time before the hip I'm lying on gets too sore and I have to heave myself over onto t'other side. then his snoring keeps me awake Wink. Was fantasising about some sort of A team with crow bars or a hoist who I could call on to turn me instead of hurting my poor shonky pelvis.

was especially miffed when one smooth roll resulted in realising I really needed to pee and I would have to turn back over and haul myself out of bed... Think when I get into 3rd trimester and I'm actually big, I may need a bed pan!

deo357 · 10/07/2011 18:18

love it.....i have been known to tell my husband im going to stab him if he keeps snoring !! but as u say missustulip apparently i now snore. WELL GOOD. he must suffer!!!!!!!
walked around ikea today not the best idea but hey ho, it changed the scenery!!

can I join please?? 32+1 and feeling a bit sorry for myself. SPD has been grumbling along for weeks but is now making itself known and walking/sleeping/moving in general is getting much more painful. Very low BP (+ sleeping disorder) plus crap sleep = grumpy and tired pregnant me. Also feel like I can't sit down without feeling like my bump is crushing my lungs/ribs. Starving all the time - but can't be arsed to cook.
Only 4 more weeks of work to endure, but getting seriously fed up with being fed up! Also a bit worried I will be excrutiatingly bored and drive myself mad on my 4 weeks leave before mat leave starts when he's due in September...

The joys. Plus point for the day? Um....I stayed at work til 4pm despite wanting to leave at 2pm? Hmm

dribbleface · 12/07/2011 20:57

well my moaning is getting worse! Right hip is so painful i cannot walk properly (guess thats what you get for pushing toddler on a quad across a field!.........it wasn't my intention to do this but coiuldn't really abandon him/quad when it gave up!), seeing physio tomorrow so we will see. Good news ....the painful cramps seem to have stopped!

dribbleface · 12/07/2011 20:58

Misty - i spent the first 3 weeks of my mat leave with DS sitting in starbucks.....i have fond memories of that last bit of child free time.

superjobeespecs · 12/07/2011 21:03

can i join too please? im 24+3 with a wee boy loving being pregnant the sickness has long gone let the good times roll etc.. until this week.. heartburn and indigestion have kicked in, insomnia, the hormones are back with a vengeance im moody and teary and a total moo, the pain in my side when i walk for more than 5 mins is agony my back hurts and my tummy? it feels like i can actually feeeeel the baby growing!!

bah humbug.

superjobeespecs · 12/07/2011 21:06

i have a cure for the how to bend over/pick things up q - get yourself an adorable 6yr old DD like mine!! without her i'd be wrecked honestly she's like my own little housekeeper/personal shopper Grin absolute doll so she is :)

dribbleface · 12/07/2011 21:08

ha! superjobeespecs, my DS (3) likes to help but is not yet consistent enough to be helpful! Taken to leaving toys all over floor for DH to pick up Blush

superjobeespecs · 12/07/2011 21:19

aw at least he tries!! i dont remember being so tired and sore with DD but it was 6 yrs ago so i couldve been and have just forgotten it Grin but i was much younger and fitter then too so maybe not :( your lucky your DH is there my H2B is working away atm and its killing me, he'll be home before babbys born so we're doing ok there Grin

dribbleface · 12/07/2011 21:27

i was not this uncomfy at this stage with DS (am 28 weeks). Must be hard on your own, as much as DH drives me to distraction (i.e can you get the stuff out the tumbler for me when its done............no i meant if it was dry you numpty!) he does help.

superjobeespecs · 12/07/2011 21:30

its torture but my mum helps out and his mum offers much unwanted and unhelpful advice from 300 miles away Grin that sounds like something my OH would do with the washing he's sweet but dumb just how i like him Wink

MissusTulip · 12/07/2011 21:30

aaaarrrgggh the heartburn!!! From everything Angry as well. Have eaten a whole packet of rennies today. And the lurvely non-stop belching, DH is appalled! I'm just fed up. And tired grumpypants too. OOOh such good company!

dribbleface · 12/07/2011 21:35

missustulip - have you tried gaviscon rather than rennies, eased mine, but was glugging it from the bottle taking alot!

outthere · 12/07/2011 22:03

MissusTulip - I've heard you can take Ranitidine in pregnancy if the heartburn gets really bad... might be worth a try!

There are lots of people with SPD on here - I really feel for you Sad I don't have it but am creaking like mad and know what you mean about the sore hips at night - (what's that all about?!) so I can only imagine how horrible SPD must be...

I don't really have anything to moan about today (apart from backache as I speak)... had a good morning at work and a lovely afternoon with my little men. Oh and I still love my boobs - just going to measure them before bed actually Grin

Hope you all have pain free nights! x

deo357 · 14/07/2011 10:12

misty9 - poor u i know the feeling, when i had my 1st i broke my ankle on the first week of my 4 weeks mat leave ! now that WAS BORING!!! enjoy it lay in watch rubbish telly , eat , shop. relax it will be great.

i on the other hand......i have this ripped muscle in my belly and jeeeez it hurts any kind of straining so bad. on the edge of phoning hospital really. midwife did tell me too if no better, dont know what they can do though. cant see it repairing either ???

OP posts:
MissusTulip · 14/07/2011 16:56

outhere and dribbleface - I have a generally crap stomach and take max dose omeprazole and ranitidine long term... the heartburn is just an added bonus! It wasn't too bad until I ran out of omeprazole - I missed one day as the pharmacy was out of them and that moan was the result Blush. Am now fully stocked up with gaviscon too - I took some that night (glugged from the bottle like a classy lady) and it helped for a while. The SPD is another matter, right pain in the bum (and groin) Grin...

deo that is sucky about your stomach muscle, think you should check with midwife. Dunno what they would do, maybe a support belt or physio might help?

outhere - lol at measuring your boobs, I'm too scared to! DH thought it would be cute to refer to me as his mini-sumo yesterday Angry ... I haven't put on that much weight honest!!! Just belly and boobs really, but may fashion a wee loin cloth a la a sumo wrestler to wear around the house later to guilt trip him. He really needs a guilt trip as he's off to Benicassim with his mates tomorrow SadSadSad Tho at least I won't have to put with him a) drunk b) hungover, his mates will!

superjob - my mum is far away and has signed up to skype so that her grandchild will know her and not be frightened when she comes to babysnatch visits. Is your MIL bullying advising you via skype or just phone?

minicc · 14/07/2011 17:07

thank god! thought it was just me, i'm sick of the "are you sure there's only 1 baby in there? you're massive". bearing in mind i had a 27in waist and only 5ft1" before i was pregnant you'd think people (bitchy women) would be more forgiving!

Misty9 · 14/07/2011 17:46

missustulip - my DH is off to a festival next weekend...without me. What can we do to make them make it up to us?! I'm thinking spa treatments? :)

Feeling bit less grumpy today....sure it won't last though. Helps that the SPD is slightly less agonising today - a big click clunk of my pelvis in the morning when I first bend over seems to help! Still sleeping sooo badly and not looking forward to another 7wks (potentially 9....eek) of this. Oh, and rennies are my best friend.... Grin

Off to pregnancy yoga/exercise now, hopefully won't click or hurt too much!

MissusTulip · 14/07/2011 17:58

misty9 - oooh great idea! DH got me a spa day for Xmas, which I had to postphone as they wouldn't spa me until I was over 3 months but had i on my birthday and it was lush!!! Can't milk it too much, he was meant to be going on a business trip in Europe straight after and he has cancelled it. He claims he'd like to cancel the festival trip - yeah right!

Glad to hear you're having a better day. I would like to go to bed now for a few hours but have to go and get ready for a BBQ at MIL's, who DH is in a mood with. Yay.

cookie9 · 14/07/2011 19:17

Deo I was sent to physio where they gave advice about how to move and very large support bandage. Unfortunately muscles will not heal until after pregnancy. Rest as much as possible and don't lift anything heavy. My dh has to look out pots and pans for me as can cook but not lift. Had lots of codeine to help with pain but trying to limit myself as don't want myself or baby getting addicted.
Can't bend down very easily so dh is going to drive me to spa at the weekend so I can get legs and bikini line waxed.
Have a wedding in 6 weeks and not sure how I am going to make it through it.

deo357 · 14/07/2011 19:46

just read your prev post COOKIE - we may have simular problems there. I already am not doing lifting etc as i have pp - i actually just went to hug someone & felt the rip. Maybe i need to see midwife etc actually get advice as its def getting worse, even laughing is painful !

Hi deo when getting in and out of bed make sure you roll onto your hip and push yourself up from there. Avoid anything which is a form of sit up as you will strain the muscles more. I over did things after first injury and ended up unable to drive and signed off work for 6 weeks.
Hope everyone is feeling a bit better.
Again almost murdered dh after waking me up at 1.30. I finally got to sleep at 4 for him to wake up 20 minutes later. Grrrrrrrr! Did get a text apologising to me although did add that he had a good nights sleep and is feeling refreshed!!!
