Just found out I have group b strep. I'm almost 11 weeks pg. All i know is that I'll be given antibiotics during labour to protect the baby.

I googled.. only read an nhs page. Now need the sanity of MN wisdom, please. Little bit scared ( and god that is hard to admit for me!)

The NHS test is approx 50 percent unreliable, the doctors lab one is very reliable, you can send for it from www.gbss.org.uk and it costs 32 pounds to get it processed, it needs to be done at 35-37 weeks, please don't risk not being tested.

Thanks for the link, will definitely look into it if that's the case! Don't understand why they try to fob you off over something potentially so serious!

I have seen one here someone mention and also my midwife re-tested me because I was still getting more/the discharge that made me go to the docs in the first place.

If you mention about that they may swab you.
