This may sound odd (i suffer from insomnia and it's playing on my mind) but despite what i have been told; that the size of your boobs has no relation on breastfeeding, i am concerned. My dads side of the family including me are small busted (we are all a cups) and my sister, aunt and nan could not bf but my mum (who is a c cup from a large booby family) could.
I am ttc but am wondering if i will have trouble bf because i am so small.

Was a 32A before I got pregnant and I could have run my own milk-bank as I made so much. Fed both DSs for over a year each!

me too. very small a cup.... fed my baby like crazy and had a lot to pump too. went up a size...but i agree with one of the others..the only issue was that many nursing bras only come in huge c cups or bigger...
but i did find a few good ones. am on baby number two and plan on breast feeding again!

Found this thread really useful as i've also been worrying about the same thing. I was a tiny A cup before i was pregnant and i'm now 35 weeks and although they've grown a little i'm still not filling a B cup properly.

I went into mothercare last week to buy a maternity bra and walked out as i noticed there was non that were my size and i was embarrassed Blush. Do i continue with my normal padded bras....or will somewhere sell maternity bra's for more humble of us.

I really want to breast feed and hoping so much my little A-cups arn't going to let me down. Its good to hear other ladies with modest breast size did it just fine. i feel abit better now about it Smile

daisybear - they will get bigger when the milk comes in which isn't until a day or so after the birth.
There is a difference between maternity bras and feeding bras.
While you are pregnant you just need a bra that fits comfortably. A nursing bra unclips at the cup to get the breast out for feeding.
Pre pregnancy I was a small A cup and during pregnancy I didn't notice much change. I bought the smallest cup sized feeding bra that I could find and they were okay.
Don't buy too many at the beginning because
a)your breast size will alter as you continue feeding,
b) there are different kinds of clips which you need to do one handed and you may prefer one to another
c)and they very soon wear out or go yucky.

Thanks for the adviceinthesticks

i did wonder when they were going to grow some more. that makes me feel better. i suppose its just a case of wait and see and hopefully my milk will come in and all will be fine.

thanks for the bra advice, i'll stick to my normal ones for now then and buy a small size feeding bra so at least i have one for the first few days of feeding.

IMVHE all the ladies with smaller boobs I know had no problem with bfing at all. It's the bigger ones that have problems (maybe to do with PCOS).
